It really depends on the rest of your aesthetic more than your age. But space buns (that's what I call them anyway) are also an option to try out if normal ponytails make you feel self conscious. Or half up ponytails.

If you feel self conscious in a hairstyle, even if it looks objectively good, it tends to show, so the most important thing is that you like it tbh.

I agree with the other comment saying low pigtails are fine but high pigtails are childish. Low pigtails can suit some women. I doubt I would ever wear my hair like that though, its not really my thing. I can't imagine it actually lol. I am a huge fan of plaiting/braiding my hair though.
