additionally it’s also huge financially and jobs, it links in to Products and a product development.
For example, a pair of new sports trainers, that is a product line and there is a fair bit of marketing and product development going on, looking at function, market segment, target audience etc.
you then produce them in say 10 colours, someone does different colour joggers and tops, everyone decides on a different colour for trainers, different colour for joggers and different for tops.
you have fashion, with different colours and styles chosen.
You mean fashion will finally exist? :-D I mostly dislike a lot of what people wear these days. I am sure they themselves like it though. That pretty much tells you how impossible it would be for fashion to die because everyone would be equally beautiful. I do make my own clothing, even formal stuff for weddings. If I had infinite fashion budget, there would be certainly a lot I might consider having made from scratch for me. And it's not too crazy either, just significant variations of existing things, perhaps mixing a couple past centuries into modern styles. And guess what, I still wear whatever they sell in regular local shops most of the time. No matter how much money, imagination and talent I have, I still end up consuming whatever society produces at the moment and conforming to what is considered normal.
I am no good at art. Whenever I go into the city there are lots of people all dressed very differently in all kinds of clothes. I think trends are only among younger people as older tend to have found a trend they stuck with

No fashion will not go extinct but it will change a lot still some people will still be wacky some will be simple some will be freak and so on
We're halfway there already.
Thanks to democratization of fashion and a wealthier middle class that know nothing about couture but love to show their new branded handbag or sweater on instagram we get all this branded crap instead of actually designed clothes.
Not sure but I’ve never been into fashion or liked most of it. I like the looks of people looking as close to their own natural state as possible. Because it’s who and what they truly are without the coverup or fakery.
Fashion is just fabric dictatorship. It forces people to conform to the whims of the few each year with the "must have" fashion and "you can't wear that" attitude.
It already is. They now sell ripped pants. and don't have many sizes available.
Good looking and fitting clothes are now usually bought either online or from not-so-expensive designer stores. From those, who at least care a little about fashion.
Videogame characters have better clothing style than what the conventional clothing stores are selling now. Figures.

Depends on what you mean by fashion. If we reach singularity, maybe yes or it could increase it's importance.

Lol, definitely not. Fashion is a type of self-expression... now what happens on the walkways that many see as "famous fashion designs" are just wearable art pieces, not actual clothing fashion.
