Obviously all men of all ethnicity would wear such disgusting sandals but I have only seen white men wear it so far.

For a couple of reasons:
1. Many birkenstocks could be worn either home or out of the house. They can be worn as shoes to go somewhere but also as shoes for housework.
2. They are more comfortable than most flip-flops.
3. They are made of good material. I have mine now for five years and they don´t look worn at all.

Comfortable, my boyfriend has a pair of addidas like those, they look extremely comfortable. Even tried them on, loved them so much I tried to find them in the women section.

I like those, although I don't remember ever seeing anyone over age 7 wear them. I'd wear them if they were comfortable.

Can't wear socks very well with flip flops and my feet get too sweaty if I'm not wearing socks. Plus Aussies call them thongs, guys in thongs are wrong on so many levels :)

Everyone seems so obsessed with the appeal and look. You're forgetting that these are super comfy and good for walking, that's the main point of footwear. I don't feel wearing socks is comfy so I just wear these sandals and they feel excellent.
