I think I'm more drawn to a mature or elegant type of look. Sometimes that's not entirely incompatible with cute though. But I grew up in the 80s. My idea of beauty and attractiveness was more like, "woman", all sophisticated with nice dresses, high heels, hair up, and a certain presence to their room and a certain depth to their voice.

I'm surrounded by the cute "girl" types these days. The "woman" type is becoming rarer in my experience. Even women close to my age in Japan are going for the "cute" look and act like a 40-year old woman still wearing Hello Kitty shirts and giggling while covering her mouth, and I think it's too much sometimes. I miss the women.

I married a "woman" type, not a "girl" type, and she was rare in my social group. She's not giggly. She doesn't dress like a teenager. She's thick-skinned and doesn't get offended easily. She's sophisticated, educated, passionate about traveling and learning about the world. That's my type. But she has her cuteness sometimes in the way she acts.
