Oh, heck with it. I'll just write a new question on it.

Not much physically.
You can tell the difference appearance-wise due to material and patterns/designs used as lingerie will usually include more lace, etc.
The logic we use when we're shy in lingerie but nonchalant in a bikini makes no sense, we know.
It's more of the social aspects associated with them. A bikini, though just as revealing as underwear, is seen at the beach, a public setting, so we find it okay.
Great answer
thanks ^^
Any woman or girl that doesn't want anyone seeing her in her bra will not usually be seen wearing a 2 piece bikini in public
That's a good way to put it and makes sence
Heck, I still have snow on the ground and we are getting more snow on Wednesday. So we are not done with winter yet
Opps wrong person
@humanearth
No problem :)
Well now you know we still have winter here

It’s down to Context, Consent.
Material often comes into it as well, with bikinis being slightly more thicker (although padded bras are also).
Really it’s about consent and context within social expectations.
Its amazing how many still do not understand consent.
Ref your update…. That’s the consent thing 🤦🤦
Don't forget crop "tops". What's the difference between this and a bikini or a bra?
Precisely!
Barely any difference. Women just make excuses for it because they want to push the envelope for how much they can get away with in society. As time goes on, their clothing is getting smaller and smaller.
lol
It's not "what" they wear, it's is "when" they wear it. Bikinis are usually worn in designated areas like beaches or pools which is "when" they feel comfortable wearing it. They'd feel the same wearing panties/bras when worn in those places only you don't see it often because bikinis are meant for swimming while panties and bras aren't. Women don't wear bikinis normally as an underwear because it's not comfortable so they wear bras and panties which "when" exposed, they get uncomfortable because they're not in those bikini places.
Lol, different fabric.
I like the photo, its so true
Because when I'm in a bikini, I'm already "ready" to be seen. If you see me in the house in my bra, then I'm likely still in the act of "getting ready" and I'm not ready to be seen.
Well I'm sure one has said it already but...
Swimwear-I'm sexy and going for a swim.
Underwear- they hide your naughty bits and not for swimming. :)
The female friends i have never had a problem with such. We even go to bastu/sauna all nude 🤷♂️. I sit with my parents in law all nude in the sauna, it's the swedish way
I guess they're embarrassed to have you find out their underwear has lace trim, or something.
One is more for decoration than function, the other is more for function than decoration.
The difference is the function. Bikini tops are designed to cover, bras are designed to cover and support.
More see through I guess to them and not in the right setting but that’s a funny example of how silly that is
The only difference is fabric made for flexability and water wear support and colorful. Bra's and panties are thin layered for maximum air flow and support , also see through when wet. Technically speaking tho... nothing is really different.
One's for water ;)
But with a bra it's usually linked to intimacy, bedroom, bathroom. So if you see my underwear, you'll be in my room, broken in for whatever reason and I'll be like "wth gtfo"
A lot of men are socialized to see women as objects to fur fill their sexual desires so it doesn’t matter what we wear, we are still objectified, hate crimed, and assaulted
Well besides the fact that they are two separate pieces of clothing made with different fabric and designed for different uses.. context is a big factor.
that’s like asking what the difference is between boxers and swing trunks.
@SSJBrutus I’ve never seen the same material used for pockets and swim trunk. Neither have I seen the designed the same way
@SSJBrutus underwear and swim wear are different. They serve two different functions. That’s like saying that slacks and yoga pants are the same thing
In today's culture they are the same. Women and even some men will wear yoga pants and consider them to be the same as slacks. The fabric doesn't change what their uses are. You are now comparing things that are virtually the same but have different variable uses. 👞 vs 👢 both do exactly the same thing, but one might be better equipped for certain tasks than the other. That doesn't stop someone from stepping in a puddle with a tennis shoe
@SSJBrutus but it does make them different tools used for different. You would call a socket wrench and a screwdriver the same thing because they are both tools used for similar purposes… while they have similarities they are not the same.
How embarrassed the wearer is to be seen in it. And probably a hefty chunk of change, too; bras ain't cheap.
Neither is women's swim wear
Well u can't really wear a bra out on the beach or pool or somewhere... bikinis r made for that
Coz bikinis give pretty good looks and bras dont so we dont want u to see us in bras
One if for public fun and the other is for private fun
This is why I don't wear a bikini it reminds me too much of a bra
Because you have some sense. Girls act like that's all they can wear but it's not. I go to the beach in a rash guard and surfing shorts. The extra fabric isn't uncomfortable at all and it's made for the water. I've seen some girls do the same and they're not constantly fixing the material like the girls in skimpy bikinis do. Bikini isn't the only option, ladies.
bras are more padded and tend to have more support since you would be wearing them for longer period of time and bras have the clips at the back where bikini tops tend to be tie ons
The same reason why men show off their secondary sexual traits such breast hair, muscles, breast etc but complain about public breastfeeding although female breasts are also secondary sexual traits
It also scary how some of you can't respect women's consent. Just because. So it is about consent. You can't just invade her privacy just because she wore bikini
Gay men also dont fuck your little ass just because you show them your secondary sexual traits
Setting is the major difference. In a pool or ocean setting then no big deal.
Looking at a woman in her bra while she's in the bathroom or dressing rooom is another as those are places that are considered intimate locations.
One is meant to be worn under clothes. The other is for playing at the beach.
does Canada have beaches?
@888theGreat yeah, their called ice roads
ice beaches , where snow cones are free
Romantic
you said we , so
was the other a guy? Maybe you will get married
oh , I see
That's okay, I have 1 billion sisters
5 brothers and one sister? No wonder you ain't married , by the time they got done with him. Your family have a Catholic background?
what number were you? baby? Or first? Or middle?
baby sister , oh yes , any guy would get crap beat out of him by the brothers. I am shocked you are not still a virgin.
Bras tend to have more padding, but it's doesn't make sense to freak out over
Difference is their intended purpose. Both are designed the same.
Not much, but weird society has to make a big deal out of it.
The difference is the women's mindset. Both cover What's important but a leave little for the imagination.
What’s the difference between men’s underwear and a Speedo?
Absofuckinglutely nothing. It's all in their minds.
the thing is same if you women wear bra or bikini.. it's about women logic. that cannot be understandable in next 5000 year.
All ik is I have 8 sisters and if I saw any of them I'm anything but a burka I'd be scarred for life
it's who can see her in it that makes.. most bra's cover more than bikini do
Lol this is pretty true.
material.
and consent to be seen.
Tbh I don't know. Both are meant to cover the tiddies, innit?
One is okay for you to look at while the other isn’t
Ha ha ha ha.. Yes buddy.. Exactly
material mostly , one you get wet , and bras are harder to get off , just saying
The material and how they fit is way different
But why do some women hide themselves when wearing a bra, but not a bikini top.
context is the difference
Bikini top is more revealing and less supportive.
Never understood this either
The snaps on the back
Bikini top use more layers of fabric to hide completly the nipple. Bra can be more revelling.
Simply the occasion, ha!
One’s socially acceptable and the other isn’t.
Probably about fifty bucks.
Context - pure and simple.
A bra is more stronger and durable
I'm comfortable with both.
Not much really!
Fabric.
Acceptance.
Really not much
