Why are attractive women's looks often nitpicked and criticised more?

Why? I see this a lot. Is it because their looks are noticed a lot so they are in turn scrutinised more?

For instance, very attractive female celebrities are often nitpicked and criticised by both men and other women. People will be like "Angelina Jolie is too skinny for my taste" or "Margot Robbie has a square face." I see people pitting attractive women against each other as well, being like "who's prettier between so-and-so?" "Between these two very attractive girls, who's got the better body?" "Who's more faceable?"

I don't see them doing this with less attractive women (I know because I am an average looking woman), so why are attractive women so often criticised so intensely? Is it our society?

Men are judged by how much money they make, women are judged by their looks. Celebrities are more in the spotlight, so of course people are gonna be more likely to talk about those that they know and everybody else knows rather than a random person that they have seen down the street.

Unattractive women don't get talked about because a) they are already dealing with self-esteem issues and don't need more and b) people don't really notice them like that compared to more attractive women. The main idea is that an attractive woman is used to compliments and pandering, and can probably take criticism more than an unattractive women, just like people usually think they can get away with punching someone bigger than them in size because that person "can take it".

Remember folks, if you wanna become famous, you gotta take the good with the bad. These women aren't worried about comments on their square face or body type, they are laughing their way to the bank. If you cannot handle the public attention, then DO NOT try to become famous and try to complain about it later because people WILL talk.

They reached a higher bracket of attractiveness so are therefore compared to other attractive people. It’s like comparing a low performer in an advanced class of science. Nobody is gonna talk bad about someone middle school academics. They aren’t on that level.

Some propel get jealous. Some people wished that the more attractive people would feel the way most people may feel. But don’t be mistaken, usually the most attractive people are the most insecure with all that is placed on them (standards). I’ve even wrote a poem thing about the need to look perfect and I’ll share it below.

Perfection is an illusion. You can have perfect this and that but no human is wholesomely perfect all around. Humans have ideologies of perfection but even then it comes down to personal opinion. Personal opinion depends on each individuals brain and in which they think. Personality over powers physical beauty and imperfections because perfection is a mer description of being deceived into thinking what is observed is simply true life, when it can very well not be at all. It is simply a word used to deceive the masses, whether you use it yourself or on others. Having it used on yourself will play with your mind, making you question all that you are. It is tossed blindly and leaves people chasing an unachievable version of themselves. No one is everything that is wanted and that is what makes humans human.

Because both sexes can get jealous of or intimidating by someone they precieve to be very beautiful. For women, it's out of envy and they feel like she is compitition so they try to knock her looks down and make her seem not as outstanding so they will seem more appealing. For men it's also out of compitition, they think every guy is going after her and that it will make it harder to approach her cause they feel she has a lot of options. Because of this, they get angry at her for being too out of their reach and will try to downplay her beauty. Personally to me, I thought angelina was a very beautiful woman and a great actress, however, people were right about her weight at one point. She was getting deathly thin and was looking very sickly, I thought it could of been a eating disorder, drug problem, or something else going on with her. She didn't always use to look that way. Just look at some before and after pictures and you will see how thin she really got. It was bad.

why is this even a question? when the hindenburg exploded, nobody sat back and commented on the shape of the fireball. there's nothing to critique on ugly girls. it's a train wreck. it's all bad. nothing you can do here. move on.

i know that's really mean, but it's the truth. ugly girls get ignored. it's ONLY because pretty girls are even being paid attention to that they become open for criticism.

Because less attractive women try to undermine them by nitpicking their looks. That's a good 90% of the criticism. The other 10% comes from guys who stand no chance OR are trying to ingratiate themselves to a less attractive woman by criticizing the hotty.
