You would want to talk to a professional restorer and brace for the price if you want the authentic replacement parts for the body of the watch. Which could if it's from the 40's maybe cost a pretty penny if you want the true authentic restoration. Overall worth it. But it probably would be like 3oo USD min for the parts and labor. 🧐 But it would look beautiful when finished.
Not that I know of. But I would suggest that you not worry about other people's perceptions. Who gives a shit what they think? It's sentimental to you, where the watch with pride

I don't think you have to worry about the size of the watch. Its a vintage rolex, which is incredible. Just restore this watch and wear it
Look for a wide strap, they started out for pocket watches but do get used for wristwatches... my grandfather had one with his gold omega
If it's a family heirloom, just keep it and put it in a safe place. If it's not, sell it or give it to your mom, sister, wife, etc
A nice brown leather strap is classic and masculine.
A black leather strap
That old and nice just don't make it cheap
