Just thought I would share a picture of my new watch?

• I bought this watch because it reminds me of my first watch that my parents gave me when I was 10 years old, 55 years ago!! It's almost exactly the same!! My first watch was a Benrus. I loved that watch!! This one has a 17 jewel mechanical movement with a screw down exhibition back!! It's accurate to 33 seconds a day!! I think that's pretty good!! I really like the retro look!! What do you think?

Yeah, that's a nice looking watch. Clean, classic and simple. I like the number font and what looks to be blued-steel hands. I also like the winding crown too. That style of watch is a good all-around watch and is suitable for both casual and dressier occasions. Looks nice with the leather strap too. I can't quite see the name/badge on the dial though. What make is it?

However, I hate to say it, but 33 seconds per day is actually pretty bad. Most quality mechanical watches come with a maximum variance of 20-30 seconds +/- from the factory, and are usually much less than that. Assuming the mechanicals are clean and properly lubricated, they can be calibrated on a timegrapher and regulated to under 8 seconds per day, and sometimes even as low as 2 sec./day or less. But again, it all depends on the quality of the movement, as well as the mechanicals being clean, properly lubed and maintained. Not to mention the time it requires to do it right.

Regardless, that's a nice looking watch. It'd look good on a bund strap too.
