How would I go about getting into modeling?

So I’m curious about getting into to modeling and don’t know where to start. Do I think I could be big time? probably not. But I think it would be worth a try at least. What are the requirements and is it worth it? People would tell me all the time that I look like a model but I didn’t really acknowledge it until I noticed the amount of attention I drew out in public. I think my cheekbones are the most unique features in my face and my face is symmetrical kinda slender I have facial hair also. I’m covered in tattoos so that might disqualify me but I’ve been looking at certain models and I think my look is some what similar to Broderick hunter or harry samba ( I have locs now) I’m about 6’4 slim/lean type build.

I actually got my initial connection at a bar. I was hammered and there was a guy talking to me and he said he was from a modeling agency. Then he said he wanted me to model for him and I was like, "WTF!" It was only a small thing though showing relatively mundane clothes. But it was how I got my foot into the business (only to quickly get out after).

This was in Japan and I tend to get singled out all the time for my looks (I am mixed/biracial). But I think sometimes it's all about connections at least with my weird life where I was doing jobs like modeling that I never expected.

Damn so I’d have to actually get noticed? I don’t really get out a lot so probably have to be more social and post more pictures to social media I guess.

At least I think it helps to put yourself out there for any type of job. Modeling might even be an extremity in that respect. But if you'll forgive my blunt opinion, sometimes I think there's this "flare" aspect that goes beyond looks. And it's somewhat of an illusion, but it's an illusion you can sell beyond your face and body if you project it right. This industry which is so prone to superficiality is most vulnerable to the illusion, and if you can paint the illusion, you're in.

You know like you seem to have an exceptional physique, 6'4, and a great symmetrical face, awesome-looking black man, but it's not so much physical that buys you into this industry. Some level of physical is required but it's being able to weave the illusion, I think, that your face and body are something more that makes people want to hire you and capture your image. So I don't think you have to worry about your face and body. It's marketing that will make or break your success in this industry as I see it. You have all the natural talent. You only need the marketing now.

Yea if you’re saying I’d have to sell myself or do some gay shit to get opportunities that’s not happening I’ve heard how some guys get taken advantage of sexually in modeling

No gay shit whatsoever! I only mean to say that sometimes the air of celebrity is only an illusion carefully woven that people want to buy. So I think now your "air" is more important than your body. You can be a superstar if you weave the "air". I hope that makes some sense.
