What would happen if all people stop buying new clothes and instead buy second hand?

Entire economies would collapse.
As they rely on fast fashion and buying new stuff before even wearing the old ones.

But there would be also less pollution, both in waste as on avarage a piece of clothing gets thrown away after wearing it 0.7 times, and in terms of CO2 emissions, as transportation of clothing is one of the biggest contributor.

Also less pollution of the rivers with chemicals in south east asia, and less animal suffering.

Clothing retailers would crumble. Synthetic fiber manufacturing compression would crumble. And a lot of workers in southeastern Asian countries would pack up thier loin clothes and head back to the trees.🤣🤣🤣

Second hand stores would run out of clothes, and people would have to start buying new again.
