I think there was when I was growing up (late 90s and early 2000s). Not so much now though. Buying and second hand is become somewhat trendy and is seen as saving the environment.

There is nothing wrong with it, I get a lot of my shirts and jeans from garage sales because I tend to be very hard on my clothes. The only thing I buy new is boots.

Buying in thrift stores in really a thing today. There us no stigma. You are saving money, helping a charity and saving the planet. Souds lik a win to me.
