I want to model but i’m 5 feet, what should I do?

I know how to pose, I’ve taken great photos for my portfolio and have the other qualities of a model but my height is holding me back. But I don’t want to throw my dream away.

Well, I'd assume there are companies that specialize in clothing for shorter women; wouldn't it stand to reason that they'd need models, too? I have no idea how true to life the stereotype of the model being a six foot tall woman who weighs 38 pounds are, but since that doesn't describe most women, there's a market for models who DO look more normal; that could be a selling point for you, if nothing else.

Or... I don't much about how the industry works, but would it be possible to get started in non-fashion modeling, like for appliances or something, and then transfer over? It's probably not as glamorous, but I can definitely see companies and publicists wanting to make their products and people look larger than they actually are, and a short model would be GREAT for that.

I’m more so talking about beauty modelling not modelling for appliances lmfao. My photographer and I did an editorial photoshoot but we don’t know where to put those photos out.

I think you already know the answer and that is that you cannot do anything about height. What do you expect really? Someone to give you the magic recipe for whatever to make you start growing again? Not going to happen.

Just accept your height for what it is. I do. I am just a tiny bit taller than you. I deal with the same things, although I have never decided to model or even try. I guess you could get an agent and see if they can get you jobs that specifically do not require a certain height.

Other than that, there is nothing you can do at the age of 22. You are done growing and when people stop, that is it. So, you can either try to find some sort of niche in modeling or just accept that it is a dream that cannot be realised.

We all have dreams but that does not mean they all will come true. You have to face the fact that being realistic about certain things is all a part of being an adult. Best of luck to you.

"Petites"

As a rule, any agency or management company that advertises that they accept "petite" models is a scam. It's just one more marketing ploy that allows them to expand their potential base of victims. "Petite" fashion modeling is almost non-existent except at the very lowest levels of the industry, which pay very little.

When it does exist, "petite" fashion models aren't what most people might expect. In the fashion world, "petite" means "under 5'9" tall", and most of them are 5'7" to 5'8" tall. Sometimes shorter models get jobs as fit models, or in mall fashion shows, but there is very little opportunity in fashion modeling for "petites".

There is at least one current legitimate model agency in New York City that has a "petite" division - but it is a "commercial fashion/commercial print" agency - not a "high fashion" agency - and the girls are mostly commercial print oriented. Even in that agency, the majority of the "petite" models are 5'5" or over, and some are as tall as 5'8".

We cannot in good conscience suggest that a girl who does not meet the height standards for a fashion model spend a lot of time, effort and money pursuing that goal when the probabilities of success are so very low. She is better off pursuing some other kind of modeling that uses different standards. If the luck is going to strike, it can do so regardless of what else she is doing.

Hair and makeup modeling too, don’t need to be tall if they are only taking pictures of your face. It seems mostly about people you know I am taller than you but only 5ft7 and I modeled for some lingerie designers, bikinis, a clothing store, and fetish clothing and accessories (not porn lol) and calendars.

The pics I’ve taken, I don’t even know what to do with them😂I’ve been contacted by swimwear brands and stuff BUT I feel like the limb lengthening surgery will make me more confident. Bc it’s my only insecurity.

You don’t need to be insecure, I’m sure you look beautiful petite. The surgery sounds really painful and I don’t think anything can make you supermodel tall so just try to appreciate yourself as you are. If they contacted you, you should go for it.

I don’t really care for IG models at all lol. I’ve got a following on IG though. But, my photographer and I did an editorial photoshoot and we can’t put it out anywhere because of my height lol.
