How to get into modeling for women under 5 feet?

I'm going to talk to my cousin about modeling because she models. But I'm not sure if I fit the height requirement. I'm only 4'8" and I'm 19. I don't want to model kids stuff, I want to do adult modeling. I read that petite modeling is rare, and that glamor modeling has no height requirements/requirements in particular. You think glamor would be best? And you think I could do it?

im 5'9'' and I model and I'm pretty much the shortest a fashion model can get.

petite models are around 5'4''-5'7'' and glamour models are anything from 5'3'' to 5'11''.

i think 4'8'' would be pretty tiny but I don't know every type of modelling or every type of agency. so I say ask around! you never know. but don't get your hopes up too much because its a very hard industry to get into. as long as you're all in the right proportions and stuff. it never hurts to try :) x

Thanks. And yea, I kind of feel like it'll be hard because of my height. But I am proportionate which I like. My measurements are 30B-25-32, does that sound okay for my height?

you can always try for commercial modelling, where there is no height requirements, but you do magazines, billboards, advertising. because its not 'fashion' or editorial they aren't strict about height. good luck!

Thanks for all your help! And for being honest. Most people will tell me I have a nice body and could model and forget the fact that I'm too short, lol... And Yea, the funny thing is my body is naturally that way, no exercising or anything like that lol.

swimwear models are short,try that. but you won't be able to get hired as a runway model,you have to be tall to present the clothes properly and you're not skinny enough to not draw the attention away from the clothes

Yea I could try swimwear. But yea I know I can't do runway. I know most of the runway models look rather sickly... And thanks :)

Oh yes glamour, or the shine of being truly happy, carefully proceed with that career, and keep in mind that the rumour has it that they abuse both genders on careers like that using the fear of losing the dream but if the predators heard about you, so did the good ones, be wary and hold your ground, kick some balls if you have to

Its always chance. Do you bump into the right people and are thhey the one to be interested in you. You might be able to if you looked and asked around with GREAT effort. And even then its still chance

I wouldn't say I bump into the right people. But the people I know think I have the face and body for it, just not the height.

Yeah. You definitely need to know where to look and you need to make a pretty huge effort looking. I don't know where to look so I couldn't help you there. Probably not many people do. I guess I'm not much help lol. Just saying this is just all chance and hugely dependent on the roll of the die. Don't want you to be too disappointed it if doesn't happen.

You don't want to be a runway model for sure. Half are on drugs and the other half look like they're suffering from malnutrition. But you might try either swimwear or or being a model for summer wear.

Yea, I'd like to do swimwear or something like that. But I know for sure I don't want to do runway modeling, too happy with my healthy weight lol.

A lot of modeling is from the face up so height doesn't matter, and in terms of your body as long as you're proportionate it's hard to tell how short someone is without something to scale it off of
