I don't know how many people are in the United States but I know that. The two options that we have to vote for. Would not even make good boy scouts..
And the reasons why we only have these two options is because they give us drama... They give us something to make our minds spin to keep it off the truth that we are being fucked... We are being railroaded we are being used... And until the day we figure this out we are going to keep losing in every manner and every moral value and ethic that we believe in you have to be kidding me we have dumb and dumber. Except for the real dumb and dumber made us laugh these guys we have to laugh otherwise we're going to cry when are we all going to wake up our country is falling so far we can still kick ass but that's just because we the little people will make that happen our government should be ashamed of themselves we should be ashamed of ourselves for voting for them it's ridiculous12 Reply- +1 y
@ohsheeT
An election in reality is a popularity contest.
Adults if informed can rationally decide to cast their vote on a particular issue but not if there is no particular issue on which they all vote or if they inherently disagree on said issue due to regional differences in needs.
The system use to work better because it was original a goverment of few and defined powers of a forign nature. After 200 years that goverment has become one of few and vague limits thus demanding we vote on every issue every election.
The result is we are really all voting on no particular issue at all which simply means its a popularity contest of generally undefined theme based factions reflecting almost pointlessly broad platforms. Which is why we have exactly what we have.

Yes I agree with you but out of the two that we have I don't see how they can even be popular.
They're both wrong they're both followers and not leaders.
And I truly don't want either one representing me in anything they do...
The sad part is so many millions and millions of Americans can't see past their nose and they're just following these guys because they've been brainwashed I think.
. If you weigh out the positives and negatives that each one of them have done in their lifetime to other people to this country how many times they've been caught lying cheating . Thieving
Each one is just digging our hole deeper to where when the little people weed the little people say enough we're going to have to fight our way out
Look at everything happening money is being spent right and left not for people of America but for everybody else look at all the foods that is being wasted ... Because of quote unquote new bird diseases big warehouses being burnt down if government becomes our bank and they start controlling the food they have control of us like we've never ever seen and we are all fucked we need somebody that's going to stand up and fight for us and quit being one of the good old boys and be real I doubt it's going to happen but after all these years not one person has stood up to be great Trump had a chance and he blew it like he blows everything Biden he's a lifelong politician he's bought and sold us all but we the people just don't give a shit I guess

Political parties require devotees to do the excessive work and expensive of modern political campaigns. A fact democrats prove they are as extreme or worse on the other side.
In this regard Trump is admittedly not competent as a politician, he does indeed play that game very poorly in rubbing a lot of people the wrong way much to his needless detriment. Although the results Trump got both in office and in his private business prove he is a very competent and effective leader.
Which kind of highlights the failure of democracy in that it tends to favor people skilled in wining popularity contest over actually getting desirable results as the free market does.
+1 yThe lies or the the fact that they just follow the crowd and don't know what they're fighting for/protesting against.
I'm more middle ground nowadays, slightly right leaning, and both sides piss me off.
Republicans are way to religious, and everytime I try to talk to them about anything (whether I agree with them or not) all they want to talk about is jesus. Most of them are too obsessed with Trump, like guys I like him too but he's not this perfect almighty man.
Democrats parrot everything they're told or that they read from political influencers (although both sides do this, I've found that the right will do more independent research on top of listening to political people).
The pro hamas crowd is probably my biggest pet peeve, because everytime I talk to them they either shout slogans (which all literally call for Israel/Jewish genocide) or they just blindly repeat proven lies. And the fact that most of them are violent.214 Reply- +1 y

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 It's a very depressing situation. It's a war, and wars are awful and tragic. Israel wants peace, they've agreed to ceasefires in the past and Palestine has always broken them. At this point, it's a lose-lose situation so they're just trying to rescue the hostages and take out terrorists based and weapon locations. The problem with that is those are all located in highly populated areas like schools, hospitals and churches (which is a war crime), so Israel has to make a hard decision. In trying to lower innocent casualties, Israel releases time and locations for where they attack, they literally drop fliers. Palestinians record themselves laughing at the fliers and ignoring them. It's awful and it sucks, but all Israel wants is peace. They've even offered two state solutions, but Palestine always declines. It's hard to achieve peace with people that want you dead.

+1 yMy biggest pet peeve is they want to make up their own facts and deny anything that doesn't fit their narrative, no matter what. For example, when arguing about energy prices or gas/oil production, they won't acknowledge the Dept of Energy's own numbers because "that's the government, and the government lies to us". So how about numbers from WSJ or Forbes? "No, they're owned by the leftist elite". Ok, so where are you getting YOUR facts from? " Un, the Heritage Foundation via Fox News, and I heard Trump say it too".
Need I say more?
34 Reply- +1 y
Let's be honest that both sides do this, but I think it's because everything is bought and paid for by those with political interests of their own. Most people have formed an opinion from the start and support their evidence with some sort of biased reporting, scientific studies included.
Not saying there are not honest to goodness answers out there, but a lot of people tend to flock to whatever feeds their bias.
- +1 y
Not in my example and here's why: The Dept of Energy takes its numbers directly from the sources producing them. They do not "fudge" information to make one political administration look better than the other, and you can see that if you look at numbers from the past 60 years. In FACT, the average length of service for a Department of Energy employee is 24.9 years, which means they serve over at LEAST three administrations or more. These are people who rarely get sacked, no matter WHAT the numbers say. Besides, there would be too many whistle blowers.
My point is their numbers are not politically adjusted. The same is true of the Congressional Budget Office when they report numbers, and/or make predictions and recommendations. So, when you want to look at the National Debt over a period of years, there's really only source - it's the Office of Management and Budget of the US Treasury. If they try to fudge THEIR numbers, they're going to need about 10 other offices to be in on the scheme.
Of course, people will try to find "evidence" that supports their pre-supposed position, but that's exactly my peeve. Your opinion should be formed AFTER you see facts and the truth of a situation, not before. If you make a claim to try and change someone's mind, or support your viewpoint, show them FACTS, not bullshit, not bias. Keep in mind, REAL science is designed to be unbiased, which is why it's so painstaking. - +1 y
I agree that government numbers are more likely to be correct, but scientific studies, while they are supposed to be neutral, are still paid for by those with political interest. Take the Cass review for example.
- +1 y
If a politically biased interest pays for research, they're going to want a certain outcome, as you say. But then it depends on who you hire. If you hire the Heritage Foundation, you can pre-order your outcome. If you try and hire The Pew Foundation with the understanding that you expect this or that, they'll decline and politely tell you to fuck yourself.
I can't speak to the Cass review as I have no knowledge of the case facts or how it was conducted, other than seeing the back and forth in the media, which is totally unreliable.

If and when the judge decides he broke the order, he should start with a fine (insignificant to Trump), but the next time should be weeks or months, with a warning. Hours or days would just be a fund-raising opportunity. Why not until the conclusion of the trial? That might concentrate his mind and shorten the trial.

Although you seem to shrill for the democrats, they are not your political party as a German. Nor do you as a German seem to understand the concepts of American free speech or legal system. As you seem to think it acceptable to criminalize opposition speech and do not understand how our elections work.
@Ez-Bri-Z_v2
Its not so much that Joe Biden a well enriched politician of 40+ years knows the courts but that his party is willing to abuse them in the areas they control. Which include New York city, and Atlanta George, as well as unconstitutionally Washington D. C.
The willingness to abuse thier power in coming up with entirely new applications of law to persecute their political enemies combined with total control of the local courts simply means in the short run they get whatever they want.
Knowing this they intentionally delayed their case for many years so that it would happen during an election year with the intent of abusing the same to interfere with said election.
A tacit Jack Smith had used on previous occasions such as against a former Virginia Govern. Thou ultimately it failed in the court it was successfully long enough o win them the election.
In this case they have already successfully taken Trump off the campaign trail and crippled his finances. Making it very difficult for him to get any kind of message out. Even thou they will lose in the long run they are likely to win the election regardless because of it. - +1 y
@monorprise "Nor do you as a German seem to understand the concepts of American free speech or legal system." Of course I don't. It's totally incomprehensible to anyone who isn't American. It's not like I can read or anything.
Trump's been indicted; he's on pre-trial release only as long as he meets certain conditions set by the judges. That's normal. - +1 y
@goaded Being required for a month in a half to sit in new York during a presidential political campaign for a critical month and a half is unprecedented election interference. The fact that it is done on a trial that even if it were not fraudulent would have taken place many years ago is only evidence of the tottaly corrupt nature of the Democrat owned New York courts.
Who's have for years like any bandana republic exited simply to suppress political opposition rather than crime. The criminals after all are one of the ruling democrat's largest voting constituencies.
Regardless they have physically and financially crippled the republican campaign as intended. As no real presidential campaign in hisotry has ever been successful running from a single location without money. Well that is with the exclusive exception of "Joe Biden 2020 campaign".
There is nothing even remotely normal about any of thees trials, not the way they are conduced least of all the never before seen application of said "laws" that were allegedly broken by their political enemies.
Democrats like to tell themselves and others that this is unique to Trump, but there is nothing to stop their leaders from doing the same to anyone else. And they will, after all they can always claim some special exception. That is what banana republic dictators regularly do every 'election'.
It is by theses means that we are now a bandana republic. - +1 y
@monorprise If you can't do the time...
The trial (which is not "fraudulent") is only happening so late because Trump intentionally delayed it as long as he could. He was indicted over a year ago and could have got it over and done with last year. Innocent people don't behave like that.
No president has ever broken so many laws, but many people have stolen government documents, mishandled them, lied to federal agents, falsified business records, broken election financing laws, conspired to interfere in elections, etc. What are really new are the cases where a sitting president conspired to steal the presidency. That really is unique to Trump.
(You know it's "banana republic", right?) - +1 y
Not true @goaded in each case your talking about alleged crimes requiring very creative misinterpretation of existing laws which have never been applied as such before.
Further still theses cases are being brought to trial in the middle of an election when the supposed incidents happened many years ago in some cases many decades ago. New York actually changed their law specifically to allow such cases to be brought soo long after. - +1 y
@monorprise I guess you're talking about the cases Trump already lost, when you say "New York actually changed their law specifically to allow such cases to be brought soo long after.". A jury decided he sexually assaulted (digitally raped) E. Jean Carroll. The defamation, by the way, is still ongoing.
Trump, it will be proved, falsified business records, a misdemeanor. But he did it to cover up a felony, making it a felony. I bet you think Al Capone got a bum deal, too.
Again, the four impeachments were last year, they could all have gone to trial last year, but Trump delayed them until now. I know if I were innocent, I'd pay millions to lawyers to keep the process going for a year, wouldn't you? - +1 y
@goaded A jury in a city which has only 10% of the population as republicans would convict a Republican President of anything with or without any evidence and there was none after such a long time.
Its worth noting the same E. Jean Carroll also claims to have been assaulted by other famous people Leslie Roy Moonves, as well as being a famous anti-male person herself having run a column for 17 years in New York between 1993 and 2020.
Both of which suggest she is either lying to raise her profile, or really good at getting in to such situations despite having spent 2 decades "giving related advice".
In any-case being a very public and controversial figure, her making a defamation suit against anyone is no different than Trump making a defamation suite against you. You have indeed sad as bad things about Trump, as have countless people said about her.

I'm not overly familiar with this topic, but it seems to me it shouldn't be. I don't mind them getting taxed at a higher rate though.

No, I'm saying I don't mind getting taxed at a higher rate initially to avoid the second hit.

To prevent an imbedded inherited wealth class and to repay for the infrastructure that created that wealth. It only effects a VERY small portion of the Uber wealthy.

@DrPepper12 not in the UK it doesn’t. It’s 40% of any estate over £500k
- +1 y
Wow!!! Didn't know that! That's STEEP!! Can you put it in trusts and investments if it's not real estate?
- +1 y
@DrPepper12 u can gift it away before u die but if u die within 7 years of giving it away there is still tax to pay but it reduces each year until 7 years has passed
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI disagree with the Left's "Defund the Police and Open Borders" that's not helping anybody except Criminals.

That's fair though I do think people should still be able to come here and obtain citizenship, I just believe they should do it the right way.
Opinion Owner+1 yExactly

No one is for open borders but fox news script writers. Refunding the police Away from stuff they shouldn't be handling is a great idea. Let them focus on law enforcement. That's it. Not social services, schools, medical care, crisis intervention, hazmat, search n rescue, etc.
LEOs: no vetting, a GED n 6 mos training and then you get a gun and a monopoly on violence.
Opinion Owner+1 yDont tell me no one is for open borders. That's a lie
Opinion Owner+1 ypolice need to be better trained and vetted with longer waiting periods and classes. Like 3 month long classes taught by responsible parties. As should anybody that gets an assault weapon. It's currently too easy.
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm also going through a lot right now so I dont mean to be angry.

You know what, you're right!! The CORPROTOCRACY we live under is! Let's jail the employers!!

It's all good. Hope it ends soon!
Opinion Owner+1 yAnd they can just terminate you for whatever reason. Well I'm not buying their shit anymore.
Opinion Owner+1 yThanks. I hope so. Apparently I need a job to eat shit that naturally grows on the earth.
Opinion Owner+1 yOh wait I already signed up for food stamps for the 6th time because I'm a 3d artist with 15 years of experience.

I'm assuming you are talking about transgender issues here, otherwise there is a bigger scandal I'm not aware of lmao
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm perfectly fine with trans people. I'm not okay with parents doing that to their children.
There is more to it, things I experienced as a child not related to trans stuff.- +1 y
So you'd be ok with a social transition for trans kids just not meds and surgeries?
Opinion Owner+1 yActually no, this is based on a 15 year long study.. Less than 0.1% of children who identified as trans as a child, continued to identify as trans as they grew up.
www.dailymail.co.uk/.../...e-sex-adults-study.html- +1 y
Even if dailymail was a reliable source (and it isn't, im sorry) a social transition would be reversible. Just stop wearing clothes that would typically be for the other gender, cut/let your hair grow. Go by your original name. It's easy to fix.
Opinion Owner+1 yThe daily mail has the source to the actual study.. So in this case it's reliable. In any case trans and children do not belong in the same sentence, I'm sorry, and nothing you can say or do or cite for that matter will change that fact.
- +1 y
Oh, I don't intend to try and change your mind. That's not why I'm here. Just digging into responses and seeing where people's thoughts are on political policies
Opinion Owner+1 ySince you say the daily mail, which links to this directly, is unreiliabe, here is the original study which again is linked in the article, which you can click on your self.. Pretty reliable right? www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3043071/
- +1 y
I skimmed through it but didn't see anything citing those numbers. Just mentions of mortality rates, suicides, and crime statistics for and against those individuals.
Honestly, again, I'm not here to change your mind. You have your thoughts set and that's fine. I was just curious where you stood.
8.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Mine is that capitalism is the cause of all the economic strife we have, and then complain about corporations despite the fact that they cannot exist under a free market. They also cheer for the shutting down of small businesses and the growth of these corporations because we had a flu-like case going around with a 99.9% survival rate.

Strong take. Have they ruined it or just made it in an image you disagree with for the moment? I'd like to believe our country is malleable. Besides, right now, conservatives control the highest court in the country, so a lot of what may be going through can get caught there and sent back. Checks and balances at work. 😊

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 It has been a tough four years. As bad as 2020 was with covid I now think of it as the good old days. There was a gang of illegal aliens from out of state that have been coming here and have done dozens of B&Es and a few were in two adjacent towns. I never locked my basement or my garage until now. I never owned firearms until a year ago.
- +1 y
Yikes, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you don't personally experience any crime based from that.

nmy next door neighbor had his house broken into in broad daylight when nobody was home. I wss home recuperating from a hip replacement when the cops came by and asked me if I saw anything. It could have been my house they broke into and I was in no shape to fight them off id they did, That is when I deccided to buy a ahnd gun and a shotgun.
- +1 y
That makes sense. I moved into a gated community myself for protection. I don't think I could ever own a gun. I'm terrified of them, and I have kids who like to snoop into my things. I'd be afraid they'd get into it even if locked in a safe

@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 I have a friend from college who became a deputy sheriff. He is retired and has a training facility mostly for law enforcement. I took a weeks long training course from him. Gun safety, tactical shotgun and combat shooting. I go to the range a couple of times a month. I feel pretty confident sbout being able to handle fire srms.
- +1 y
I was shot at when I was still a kid (I wasn't the target, but a guy I was with was), and it has terrified me of them ever since then. I don't think I'd even want to hold one to start training.
UK here. I hate when the Conservatives waste taxpayers money.
