I gave up all hope for the Democratic party by 2010 and came to actually despise it after 2016.

I don't like the Republican party much, either, but I agree with it on some issues and prefer it over the Democrats.
One of the things I strongly disagree with the Republican party about is its stance on abortion

That religion should be in schools. I'm right leaning, and while most conservatives don't support religion in school, I've seen a few talk about how America is a "christian nation" which is false.
