Why did my perfectly new pants ripped?

So i recently i bought brand new jeans and went out with it after i was dobe with my day my little brother told my jeans butt part had ripped i looked at it and there was a marble sized rip where you could see my panties it was so embarrising i went the whole day being oblivious about it why did this happen?
