Are dreadlocks attractive short or long on both the guys and ladies?

I often cringe when it comes to dreads. But in high school, very few could pull it off. Its sexy if its kept up and redone monthly. There was one guy who I was determined to get (and did lmao). His aunts were beauticians and took great care of his dreads. He looked much better with the medium to shoulder length. (Anything past that is cringe and anything above the ear was cringe. Looked like little worms lmao.) I thought they’d feel nice but nope felt like a dry mop. Problem is, the older he got, the longer he grew them and started wearing them in ugly buns and ponytails which then they started pulling back his hairline. Super unattractive. Anyways, some guys can pull them off but i prefer shaved/fade hairstyles. Zendayas faux dreads were nice and kept up like the guy im referring to. Still too long tho...

These are a bit too long but all have the “neat” factor that i liked.

See the guys above looked neat. I refuse to be with someone with dreads like The Weeknd and Kodak. They looked horrible with the faux dreads

Everyone i posted above is black or half black but have their dreads in different styles. So as i said, i like the dreads if theyre not too long and look NEAT. I dont like the “antlers” look. Stay in your lane bra

Seeing i have some of my own, it varies. I have mine about mid long... and I like it. So i guess it depends how you style it. If you have it trashy and long, you gonna look like a thug. But keep it well done... like whoopi goldberg and you look beautiful

It takes a lot of work keeping them well clean and healthy. I’ve never worn dreads myself and my friends tell me about their dreads.


How other people wear their hair is COMPLETELY CULTURAL. Which brings a lot of racism issues in corporate America along with dating. Right now it’s legal to fire black women from their job strictly because of how they wear their hair. It’s disgusting how racism really does exist and continue to grow in America.

Here in Canada, members of the Sikh Punjabis can wear their traditional turban in any giving opportunity. However, men wearing their hair long and people wearing dreadlocks are giving a dress code to get a haircut. That's prejudicism and double standard 😐

Yeah, I personally don’t agree with that. If the person wearing dreads is doing it for cultural reasons they absolutely should. Same reason why turbans or hijabs are allowed.

What do you have to do to get them, just refuse to wash your hair for several months?
I know a guy that's got `em down to his ankles and some are as big around as my wrist! One of them snapped off about half way down his back and is only hanging on by a few strands.

The problem is you don’t know what ’natural hair’ really looks like. Every person pays some particular attention to their hair one way or another. If natural hair always looked better then hair stylists wouldn’t really exist.
