Has your SO, husband or wife asked you to dress or wear your clothes in a way that you don't care for or is not your style, what did you do?

A woman friend suggested that when I wore a dress shirt, that I leave a few buttons unbuttoned. That has never been my way of dressing, and although I never buttoned up to the top button like a prisoner at Alcatraz, I did only leave the top button unbuttoned when being casual. I see some guy with a hairy chest leaving a few buttons undone, because they they think that is macho, (I guess?)

I don't know how I answered her, but never did adopt the 'open neck' dress style when we went out. How would you handle a similar request?

not just someone close but also some people im not that close with, like friends that im not closed with, i look pretty so they all want to dress me up, including my mother and i FUCKING HATE IT!!! I do actually dress like a woman, nothing weird like and i myself consider I have better style then them, i just find it sooooo disrespectful!

I think it may have to do with her being black, as she was from Trinidad, and I met her at work, and I liked her very much, and we enjoyed doing a lot of things together. She was 10 year younger, and we enjoyed a lot of nice times together. Actually, I miss her NOW and wish I could get back in touch, but still would not do the open shirt thing.

I usually take my SO's advice about what I wear, because she has a much better fashion sense than I do. But sometimes I stay with what I like, whether it's fashionable or not.

Depends how much I dislike it. Shirt or trousers I'd probably try it, keep her happy. I'm choosey about shoes. Have told her a few times not to buy me shoes

Hey man the same happened to me. Girlfriend asked me to unbutton shirts snd relax. I used to be uptight about it and button up always. I guess i listen sometimes and sometimes i suggest. With the shirt i listened and eventually liked it. Now im much more open to unbuttoning in the right situations. I think i was always self conscious of my hairy chest
