Why can’t women with wide hips wear mini skirts?

so many fashion blogs say to avoid mini skirts if you have a pear shape. why is this?

Pear shaped body have larger hips and many miniskirts tend to accentuate them and make them look even wider. If you don't care about that go for it... also it depends on the skirt, with some it's less of a problem.

Like you could use a high waisted or skater skirt or something with vertical stripes to mitigate the issue

Look I don't know what your problem is. The point is that too much of something can be bad. People generally want their look to be balanced and if everything is highlighting one specific thing, some people find it not attractive. You don't need to agree with that but then why ask if you just try to argue against it. Also different beauty standards in different parts of the world. Where you live they might pay for wide hips, in other parts they pay to make them smaller. It's all subjective and personal preference so just wear whatever you want and stop reading stupid beauty blogs

Why do you care so much what other people think if you have a strong opinion about it yourself?

I tried to give you an explanation to why some people avoid it because I thought you're unsure on the looks but you have strong feelings about it so what's the point? It's all subjective so I couldn't care less what other people think or wear so I'm not gonna argue over it.

So just wear whatever you want. No one is saying you can't wear skirts with wider hips.
