What do you think about Victoria's Secret's marketing decision?

Victoria's Secret plans to withdraw its attempt at being more inclusive with its marketing, reverting to its original reputation in the wake of decreased sales. They tried to diversify their models, including plus-size and transgender representatives. However, their sales have fallen waaay off. VS's SALES this year are down by almost 20% compared to 2020's. I guess their wokester view of the world did pay the rent. Wow! What a surprise. Go woke, go broke!

Now I can look at VS catalogs again, knowing that what's under those bra's and panties belongs there and are girls I would like to romp with.

When this nonsense began to infiltrate the corporate world, at first it flabbergasted me. Why would Victoria's Secret (and Anheuser-Busch and Target) shoot themselves in the proverbial foot, with obviously self-defeating and overwhelmingly customer alienating marketing? Doesn't "The Bottom Line" of profit ultimately matter?

But then I investigated further. I forgot who originated it, but there is a saying: "If something that seems absolutely irrational to you is happening, in order to understand it, go back and check your assumptions and premises, and you will discover at least one of them is wrong."

It turns out that certain people and organizations with dubious and warped cultural and political agendas, if they are rich enough, WILL forego "The Bottom Line", at least temporarily.

Ideologues at investment firms and money lenders like Black Rock and Vanguard, or maniacs like George Soros and Klaus Schwab at the World Economic Forum, had enough money to push this, even at the expense of the natural profit motive. Some people, let alone government bureaucracies, are SO rich that pushing their radical agendas can be afforded. It's frightening how similar to the villain character of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, created by the late Ian Fleming, that some of these people are.

And worse, certain goverment policies, with euphemisms like "Diversity, Inclusion and Equity" (sic), with the great acronym DIE, or "Environmental and Social Governance" (sic), with the acronym ESG, will reward and even subsidize companies if they fall in line. So they do.

Now Companies would normally never sacrifice the rational "bottom line" profit motives, in favor of bizarre and even sinister agendas, but when they can get Government backing to offset the losses in profits, they will, or they can be corerced to do so at least.

This also explains the "Green New Deal" of energy projects that actually don't produce any meaningful energy. The focus on "the bottom line" only is really only for the "lean and hungry" companies.

But sooner or later, the Trust Funds have to run out.

Happily, the about face of Victoria's Secret has a silver lining. It means the Cultural Marxist agenda pushers are running out of money to push this crap.

This one was always really strange to me. VS built a brand as being all about HOT girls. The underlying subtext was, "get this bra and this thong, and you too can be as hot as Tyra Banks or Marisa Miller, etc., etc." Of course, it was NEVER going to happen, but the girls lined up because they wanted to believe. They even created a different line--Lane Bryant--to make underwear for fat chicks EXPLICITLY for the purpose of not sullying the "hot girl" brand with the fatties, but also to serve the fatty market.

I guess one day some moron decided, "hey! I've got an idea! Let's just put all this stuff together and also market to mentally disturbed dudes who love jacking off to the idea of themselves as chicks! YEAH!!! Then the money will come POURING in!"

I'm honestly not even sure how this plan was ever going to make them money.

I've been watching the VS Fashion Show for years. I've only ever bought a couple of things from them, but I loved seeing the different angel wings, the musical acts, and some fierce models stomp the runway.

Then because of an investigative report that exposed harassment, misogyny, and bullying, and one dudes comments about not wanting trans women in the show, they just up an axed the whole entire thing.

This was an idiotic move from the company. If proven guilty, you fire the people who did/said those things and change your spokesperson if need be. Then you acknowledge the fact that not everyone wears a size 0, and throw in 2-3 plus sized models in the show and continue with the 4-5 models of color which they already had in the last recent years of the show.

That. is. all. they. had. to. do.

Instead, why the hell did I need to watch us going deep into the backwaters of some country to learn about beading?!? The new show they put out to replace the angels wings version was AWFUL. It was boring, it had nothing of the glitz and glam of the original. I didn't even get to the halfway mark, and was so teed, I even wrote a poor review on it.

If a model so chooses to walk that runway to show off a bra and panties, so be it. Why is that a crime exactly? Are women "just objects," NO, of course not, but this is an underwear brand specifically, not say a pageant where contestants are vying for a college scholarship and to be leaders of tomorrow. Case in point, if this were a gym brand, I'd expect models wearing the gym clothes.

Let's just say this, if women were really THIS upset that they wanted to cancel this show, then why haven't they complained about the literal dozens of fashion shows every year where models are walking down runways in sheer clothing or topless. We can't be outraged over this and ignore that huge in your face objectification of humans!
