Is it bad to dress nicely?

I’m poor, from a middle class family and I like to wear nice clothes. Because of that, all my friends had trouble believing that I liked a rich guy for who he was. Including the rich guy. I use my own money to buy this stuff. Does dressing nicely give people the wrong idea about you often? Does that mean I have to dress like a bag lady?

Yes! Look forward. Be what you aspire to be.
It absolutely makes sense to dress for success. And if you have good taste, you can do it on a budget. You don't have to wear designer labels to look sensational. You can even find amazing things at thrift stores or estate sales.

Dress to suit yourself. You don't have to be wealthy to have nice clothes. My wife has a closet full of designer clothes and shoes she has found at resale and thrift stores. Most had been worn once or not at all.

No. I sometimes dress nicely no matter the season. Doesn't have to be very expensive clothing of course. High waist jeans and a nice shirt works well for me, personally. And maybe a necklace.
