Those rock! Something seemed to go terribly wrong starting from the 60s. Maybe too much drugs. I usually like a maximally natural look but this style, despite being somewhat obviously made up, seems so classy. I might even like it more than the most natural look. Especially the one below.

@GuyAnswersGirls123 Totally agree. It's a subtle makeup style which is really nice. Fashion in general went downhill after the 60s in my opinion.

I think even the conception of femininity and masculinity seemed to go awry (that is to say, to move in a less classy direction) starting around the 60s.

It seems to me like many people conceived of women and wives in the 50s and earlier as hyper-submissive, blindly-obedient housewives with little education. The "women belong in the kitchen" mindset.

That might have been true of the working class of the era but that doesn't seem to be the case to me of the middle class and especially upper class. A lot of the examples I find most appealing are highly-educated, sophisticated, intellectually curious women of supreme class as well as the gentlemen who courted them.

I often get accused of sexism when I speak of returning to the traditional archetypes of men and women we found in that era, but I think many people are interpreting the image of the working class husband and wife, and not the educated class which is what I have in mind that isn't so skewed in its conception of the gender roles.

Not too clowny looking please. The more subtle the better. And the darker the better too haha. I like smokey type, with or without glitter and shape too, I like shapes towards the ends of it.

Ugh! The 60s, 80s and 90s look like clown makeup. Who even came up with that stuff back then? I think lipstick colors have gone to the influencers too.

Geez, these all look awful. I went for the 2000s as the one I least hate. I'm not against women wearing cosmetics but I really think it generally looks best when it looks reasonably natural.

a lot would also depend on the fashions.
While they all had their place and were all the latest greatest thing, now I would prefer the 00s look, a bit more subtle, but I am also older now.

I'm not a fan -- most women don't do it well and would look better without. My wife almost never wears eye makeup and I'm happy with that.

Also, I feel like the 60, 70, 80s were a bad time for fashion. Everyone was on a lot of drugs. most likely because of the aftermath of the world wars and the trauma that followed.
