One thing in my case is that I don't associate "beautiful" with "extremely pretty". "Pretty" and "beautiful" are completely different categories to me. I actually often prefer "pretty" women to "beautiful" women. What I consider "beautiful" women usually seem a bit high-maintenance to me, yet they do turn all the heads.
