Funny Question for the Guys? Would you or do you wear nail polish?

I never had any interest in it although I'm a bit of an artsy type into visual arts. I have nothing against it.

What I've noticed as a VisArts major is that VisArts student tend to go in one of two ways. One is that they tend to go quite out there in their fashion and style, which might include the likes of black nail polish, lipstick, wild hair colors, tats, very flashy jewelry (perhaps a lot of silver and black, e. g.), etc. That's actually the more common way in my experience.

The other way and it was the way in my case is that we start converging towards a fairly plain style of fashion. After all the anatomy we study and life drawing we did, we end up falling in love with the human body in its nude and most minimalist form. That's what I did and progressively did and so I started to like more minimalist fashion that focuses on accentuating and complementing natural features rather than creating a very sharp contrast to what's natural.

So I am sometimes a little flamboyant in my fashion and possibly due to my visual arts background, but not to the extent of cosmetics or the most extreme fashion styles. Mostly I find myself converging to a fairly conservative taste in fashion and more so with age, since I think with age I'm actually finding the human figure in a wider variety of forms increasingly beautiful just on its own with a few accentuating additions.

Cheers! I actually had a bit of an experimental streak back when I was a VisArts student (also CompSci; I was a dual major). Actually I got these photos when I was experimenting back then:


I tried to rock a lot of silver with silver rings, wallet chain, arm band (fresh tat), flashy logo on the t-shirt, although my shoes were kind of lame. 😅 It was also my most vain period when I was taking selfies in front of the mirror (only time I did that) to show other people and see what they think.

But I also tried very different like this:


I was inspired by the Terminator in a nerdy way. Like, "Hasta la vista, baby!" 😅

I kept experimenting like that but mostly I just settled on a very plain style in the end.

Thanks! I think I needed to replace the shoes. I got really wide feet and shoe shopping was such a chore since either the shoe is too narrow and strangling my feet or it's too long and I got all this space in the toe area. 😅 So I was like, "Argh! Screw trying to match everything else! I want comfie shoes!"

I'm not the biggest fan of Harry Potter if you'll forgive me for it. 😁 Maybe if I read the books, it would help. I only watched the movies.

The problem I always had is that Harry Potter seems so boring. He just kind of stumbles around without a strong sense of purpose and gets lucky a lot. Why am I supposed to root for him? He's kind of a dork. He's a nice dork; he stands up for his friends, but he doesn't seem have any drive or ambition and just seems to bumble along.

It offends my male ego!

If one or more of my nails are in bad shape. I've tried it a couple times on all of them and I could swear I can feel it going up the inside of my arm after I put it on so, I almost never do unless, like I said, my nail is splitting way too low and I wanna keep it from getting worse until it grows long enough that I can cut that part off.
Also, there's a local band or two that always wear black nail polish and eye liner, even when there's no gig. The Ultimatics and Trash Vegas.

I used to let my daughter's paint my nails. Threw my hair and bows. But I don't think there should be anything wrong with a man wearing nail polish

No and no. I use nail clippers to keep mine short. Aside from that, I would never get a manicure or use nail polish. It's too high maintenance and feminine. And I'm not into any subcultures.

The last time I wore nail polish was at age 3 or 4 with my twin sister. If a nontoxic type exists, then a girlfriend could apply it to my hands once a month or so.

Nah, I'm not even a big fan of nail polish on women, aside from a few colors.. So I definitely wouldn't like it on myself..
