Girls, what are your thoughts on guys wearing nail polish?

I started painting my nails about 18 months ago. It was not something I ever had the confidence to do before, but one day I just decided to say "fuck it" and paint them black. Ever since I've come to really like and enjoy painting them and I've even gone to the salon to get them done a few times. Just this evening I painted my toenails a rather dashing turquoise-y colour.

I just don't care what people think like I used to. I find they aren't really bothered anyway or they compliment me for it. Only once have I had someone react negatively but I didn't let it get to me. I won't wear nail polish when I go home to visit my mum but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm just curious to hear a female perspective on this. If you saw a guy wearing nail polish would you assume he was gay or maybe trans? Would it put you off a guy from a dating perspective?

I wrote a my take about the history of nail polish you would be impressed to know that it wasn't until the 1940s that nail polish or manicures really became a woman's thing.
Prior to that everyone who was anyone got manicures
Going back into history you would see that many men used nail polish and In some cultures it was even considered to be a masculine style
Warriors use to wear nail polish before going into battle they believed they would put fear into their enemies hearts and that they would come out Victorious

Now it's not gay at all and the person below who said it was totally incorrect. football players and baseball players all a like have been turning to nail polish nail polish has been making a comeback when it comes to men.

When I go the the salon many men are there with their girls. Close-minded girls like the one below would not be open to it but many modern women will be.
The bottom line is if it makes you happy then whoever is to be your partner would want you to be happy. you don't want to have to pretend to be someone you're not and whoever truly loves you will accept you for how and who you are.

My son is very boyish. He likes all the typical boy things like trucks and trains and cars.
His favorite color is blue and he loves baseball.
He's also a little flirt he flirts with the girls his age or older and he likes to play the role as a gentleman opening the doors pulling out chairs etc
however he loves nail polish he has always gotten into my nail polish as early as the age one
I would always go and get my nails done and he would sit on my lap and watch me do it
As he grew he wanted it to be done to him too
I allowed it but only with clear glow in dark nail polish.
But eventually he wanted colors he said it's not fair his sister gets to pick colors he wants colors too
So now he his sister and I all get gel nail polish
If he's going to his dad's who doesn't like the whole nail polish idea he will use clear glow in the dark nail polish no one knows you're wearing it in the day but you know you're wearing it at night
But when he's home with me he's free to Express himself as he pleases his behavior is not hurting anyone and all the kids in his class loved his painted nails none of the boys made fun of them
I spoke to his counselor about this behavior and the therapist informed me that it is best to let him Express himself and if he chooses to grow out of this stage then he will and if he doesn't then that's fine too
I was told to be very careful about the situation and not to make him feel self-conscious
It's never a good idea to make someone feel like they have to hide who they are.
I tried to find a better picture of my son with the nail polish like I said we were mostly using glow in the dark clear at first but here's one with a glow in the dark green yellow tint

There is nothing wrong with men expressing themselves with nail polish
I would just keep it to basic colors. Cool earth colors like blue green brown grey light yellow maybe even a dark purple.
But honestly to each their own.

I think it is cool and its sexy if a man wants a manicure with nail polish.

and I can say that without ANONYMIZING myself unlike the other girl.
