Gotta say, I don't like that look - and more importantly, neither does my girlfriend.

During the Spring and Summer months I got fully shaved and in the Fall and Winter months I grow a full beard. The latter because I dislike cold weather and hope - it is arguable how much it really works - it will keep me warm.

The half look - for lack of a better term - just looks sloppy. At least with a beard you have a sort of classic male look. The half shave just ends up looking slovenly and vaguely punk. It is just not a good look.

So, in effect, you can say that I get it both ways. Clean cut and bearded - and I don't like splitting the difference. Also to add, again, that in that my girlfriend is in full agreement. (Though, if she has a bias one way or the other, she is always happy to see me shave as soon as Spring comes. I am just not sure if that is because she is not all that big on the beard and is just being supportive or if she is - like me - just glad that winter is finally over.)

Some of those styles are outated. Like the last one, instead of a jawline he got himself a chinline, it just looks awfull. The modern man wears facial hair to enhance his facial feature and patch out were your missing.

Like guys with no jaw/chin should always go for a trimmed full beard. Look at your face type which you can meassure and look according to fitting facial hair styles based on that.

it makes you look more masculine a bigger upper jaw is important and a mustache can help with that illusion. a big beard on your lower jaw just hides your jaw.
