Uncomfortable, hard to walk in and seriously unhealthy for the whole body. Why do that to yourself?

Uncomfortable, hard to walk in and seriously unhealthy for the whole body. Why do that to yourself?

I don't wear those often enough to make a difference health-wise these days. But I'll tell you why I do when I do: It visually lengthens the line of the leg and body, especially when the heels are the same shade as the skin. It creates a more feminine gait and an elegance that flats cannot achieve. Heels can adjust proportions to be more flattering, and can take a blue jean and t-shirt look from plain to chic simply by adding them.
As for back injuries, most people don't stand properly anyway, regardless of footwear (shoulders back and down, chest lifted, tummy in and lifted, bum pulled center, top of the head pulled up, etc.) The key to maintaining proper posture when wearing heels is to take small steps and place the whole heel/toe down close together, rather than heel... then... toe. The reason is because we're not walking in tennis shoes, we're walking in heels, and it requires a different walk.
If you want to really freak yourself out, check out foot injuries from ballet. That takes this conversation to the next level.
To look good of course. Simples.
I had a particular girlfriend who always wore heels. Not super tall stilettos. Hers were very tasteful, sometimes with flat heels, but she had no problem with spikes. She wore them with her outfits all day at work and whenever we went out together. For casual wear, she wore 2.5" corky wedgies.
I met her when she was 30 years old and we lived together for almost 2 years.
She was 5'1" and I asked her why she always wore heels. She said it was because she thought her legs looked funny without them. That wasn't true because her legs were gorgeous. I think she was mainly self conscious about her height. Damn she was cute!
But they didn't seem to cause her discomfort. One time, we walked all around San Francisco up and down hills with her wearing corky wedgies. She never slowed down or complained. The same thing on our second date when we walked around a county fair all day.
Her feet were perfect, too. And she certainly didn't suffer from any musculoskeletal problems
I wasn't complaining. She looked adorable and sexy af in heels.
Maybe she just knew how to pick comfortable ones.
Some women can do it and some can't. But I kind of crack up at guys mansplaining about heels. Those guys also probably like women who don't wear any makeup and dress conservatively.
I think women who like to look good are mahvelous. 😉😀
Why? Because they absolutely refine the female form. This is not just my opinion but scientific studies have documented the perceptions (both by men and women) about the appearance of a woman in flats versus high heels. It elongates the leg, flattens the abdomen, projects the butt & chest outward, and shortens the gait. These all have subtle impacts on perception.
I find it funny that this topic comes up more often than I would expect and has some very passionate detractors to women wearing high heels. Of the dozens of unhealthy habits people have this simply particular issue doesn’t rate much worry to the women I tend to know.
Because it makes our asses look primo and our legs look nice and lean. (You've never seen a gal in heels before? If so, you'd know why we do it... 😉)
Having said that... EXTREME heels or platform shoes look ridiculous (the "Bambi on ice" look isn't an attractive look on anyone). They're also closer to what your diagram is indicating. Women shouldn't wear stilettos and other shoes that trap the foot in a painful vice grip from he** OR a heel that is too narrow and causes disruptions of the spine, knee, etc.

So... (1) A chunkier heel offers support of the ankle and spine while offering the sleeker line that girls like to maintain. (2) A more square or open front doesn't cut off proper circulation the way pointed heels (and some overly rounded heels/geisha-style shoes) do. (3) Some women have a very defined/arched foot (like yours truly), so a little heel is actually more comfortable than a completely flat shoe.
High heels are a bit of a love-hate relationship for many women! 🤔 They can definitely be uncomfortable, but they also have this magical ability to boost confidence and elongate the legs, making one feel more elegant and stylish. It's like a piece of art we wear. Fashion often involves a bit of sacrifice for the sake of beauty. Of course, it's important to balance style with comfort, and many women opt for more comfortable shoes when heels aren’t necessary. What about you, do you have a go-to shoe that balances both? 😃👠

They allow me to reach the cookies in the top shelf of the cupboards...
Of course!
@northerngal 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😁👍
Well, considering they were originally invented by men for men for French Kings in ages long ago, it's understandable to wonder of how silly it can be for women to wear high heels.
But in short, it's a social norm. Many women wear high heels as a way to measure up to other women. It's vanity and ego, that's the premise behind many kings of old wore them too. High heels are built to make people feel taller than they are. It's merely compensation.
Case in Point: it's a green flag if a girl either doesn't own heels or prefers flats or Mary janes, or cute sandals, or sneakers or boots if they're country girls or tomboyish.
Lol what? Maybe women just like how they look and don’t want to “measure up to other women”. Stop projecting the male gender’s insecurities on women
Most things humans engage in are unhealthy. I’m sure while you can argue heels are unhealthy one can also argue using the internet too much is unhealthy, which I’m sure you aren’t using in moderation if you have enough time to care about something like this.
That’s actually a fair point.
It's their feminine side that says "come catch me". Women will lower or soften themselves around someone they are eyeing. It's temporary. They will make themselves vulnerable. It enhances their curves and drawes attention, which they like... unless they don't want that attention.
Makes some taller and they like that.
Helps them get a man, get pregnant, and make offspring. Anything to get sperms from whom they want.
What 💀
It is expected in the professional setting. You can hardly wear a business outfit with sneakers.
They make her feel sexy and confident about herself , they help her legs and ass to look more appealing and she knows guys’ will more
than likely check her out more. Girls’ will wear them even if it hurts her feet to draw more attention to herself. And trust me it works lol most guys’ love girls’ that wear sexy shoes , I know I do 😋
They're pretty and elevate our look. Not high heels are uncomfortable by the way. If you know how to choose them and if you're aware of how many millimeters you can handle it doesn't have to be uncomfortable at all.
I don't know, all I know is that I don't wear them lol 😂
Your feet will thank you in years to come
It looks so sexy. There are comfier heels out there.
Are there?
Barefeet are also sexy
Yes of course there is no logic in this. It is certainly not good for their body, not good for knees, not good for spinal cord even for ankles. Overall it is very bad scientifically speaking.
It is just for show off.
I dont. I value my comfort a lot when it comes to choosing clothes.
Oh, my dear potential Mistress, your words have sent quite the shiver down my spine! If high heels are not your cup of tea, then I shall eagerly polish your sneakers, sandals, or even your cozy slippers with the same passion and dedication reserved for the most glamorous footwear.
Please consider allowing me the opportunity to be of service in simpler ways, such as running errands, offering a listening ear, or providing a warm and comforting presence.
Yeah fuck off “on_my_knees”
I never could understand that. Those things are really bad for your feet and they are hard to walk in.
They think that it pretty or they want to look taller even though shortness is feminine.
@HurremSultan actually being short and weak fits both for chidren and women. :)

Do you think women care you think shortness is feminine?

It emphasizes their silhouettes.
