When grown out, my hair looks messy. Why?

The above image isn’t me but that’s how my hair looks like when it’s grown out except maybe messier. I’m Southeast Asian, I think that might matter I don't know. I would describe it as dry looking but also greasy by the end of the day. How do I fix this?

Combing and brushing doesn’t seem to work. Maybe some leave in conditioner?

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of Orientals like yourself have messy hair when it gets too long and dense. I'm guessing it has to do with the environment you live in and the shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc... you guys use. Orientals live in a very different environment and tend to use different products than Westerners. I also read you shouldn't wash your hair so often, not even water. Try combing it with vinegar.

You don’t have straight hair…so ones it’s grown out in a few more inches…hair turns different directions or wavy.
my older nephews hair gets that way.
my second nephew has very very straight hair (they are brothers)…

what to do? Not much, cut it short or use hair products.. or make a new style. Have fun styling your hair

You need to do more hair masks and oil treatments. They are inexpensive, a jar of mask lasts me like, 3 months for 20 dollars. Oil is more expensive but it’s used sparingly
