I have been makeup based on my skin tone. I was told that I was a cool tone a few years ago, and bought colors to accommodate this. I was told by a couple of makeup artists that this rule is not really followed strictly anymore. Is this rule going like so many others. You know we can wear white any time these days, etc.

Great question! While knowing your skin tone can help you choose flattering colors, it’s not a strict rule you must follow. Makeup is all about self-expression and having fun. Many makeup artists encourage experimenting with different shades to see what you love and feel confident in. Trends and rules evolve, much like the "no white after Labor Day" myth. So, go ahead and try out various colors, whether they’re traditionally suited to your skin tone or not. If it looks good to you, that’s what matters most! 🌟💄 Do you have any favorite makeup products or colors you've been wanting to try?
