Why do shorter women get shocked that us taller women have bigger feet?

I’ve gotten reactions when I told them my shoe size and believe me, they weren’t kind words. I’ve had brutally honest comments about my feet size and it’s so embarrassing. My dad said I shouldn’t be ashamed of my big feet and let people say their opinions. I hate being reminded that I’m bigger than most women and I’m not an average size woman. I mean it’s true but I don’t need a reminder. My mom said I needed to stop trying to by shoes that are too small and just accept my large feet. I wear a size 13 in women's. Sometimes I have to buy a 14. My feet are a narrow so it’s tougher. I wish they were wider. I mostly by them online because I refuse to wear men shoes.

A guy friend said I’m too vain to wear men shoes because he reminds me that I have a hard time finding shoes so just wear men shoes. Makes no difference.

I wish my feet were smaller like a size 9 or a 10. Even a size 11 would be fine.

We’ll what did people expect? For us to have size six feet? The taller we are, the bigger features we will have so why bother trying to be something we’re not. We would look ridiculous with smaller feet. Don’t worry about what others say to you. Listen to your parents. Just own it. My parents tell me that I shouldn’t be embarrassed to have big feet which it’s pretty hard. The comments do trigger me and I’m still learning to not let it bug me. I just work with what I got.
I wear a size 11W and in some shoes 12W. I understand shoe shopping is crap but I heard of these online stores you can check out. They have selection of she’s for women with sizes 11W and up!

No explanations or excuses are required, nor needed.
As people progress along life's journey, physical differences usually become much less relevant to life, though they really should never be relevant at all.
The problem is not so much yours; it is of those who call out such differences.

It may be difficult for you to find footwear that you like that also fit you.
As aggravating as that might be, there are worse things in life to have to deal with.

It's hilarious, because I have 'small' feet for 6'7" and when I see other guys even shorter than me that wear 15+ sizes... it's the one thing that I can walk into a store and buy something off-the-rack that fits. Shirts are too short for my torso and arms.

Same here, I have relatively small feet for my size, I never had problems getting shoes. I have a buddy who is the equivalent of a U. S. size 15, who can only shop in specialty stores. 🙂

True but people always point out how big my feet are. When I was growing up, my parents ALWAYS reminded me that I’m tall and I have bigger feet so trying to be petite and wear small shoes would not look good on me. I got sick of being reminded that I was above average size but at least I’m slender.

Well my feet are a men's 13 4E if I buy New Balance or Nike shoes and I'm only 5'7". You're 9" taller than me with a smaller foot. If your feet were smaller, you'd have poor balance and stability. For your height your feet aren't big.

I know that as a guy. It is different. In high school. I wore size 12EE. People would tell me that one would put a good foundation under a house. Same as with a person. Now I wear 15 extra wide. Tough to find shoes to fit properly.
One foot is one size larger and the other is a little narrower.
Learn to wear whatever fits and is comfortable!

Isn't it more like a common sense thing? A tall woman has longer limbs. More likely to have bigger body parts such as feet for example. I don't see what is shocking here. What difference does it make to their life anyway? Whatever your shoe size might be. I don't get it :s
