Why do tall women get ridiculed for wearing heels but not short and average height women?

Tall women get garbage for wearing heels. It’s like we’re not allowed to wear them. I am 6’4” and I’ve been told all my like, “You’re tall. You don’t need heels girl.” And “No use of you wearing them because you’re tall enough already. Jeez!” One of my ex boyfriends was embarrassed and would get pissed off at me because I was “emasculating” and embarrassing him for trying to be taller. I wore my four inch heels to a party which made me 6’8”. I heard people talking about me and making rude comments and I got laughed at. Even some girls said I’m setting myself for failure if I wear heels and heels are only for short and average height women. One guy said if I was 5’4, then it would be better but no woman over 5’8 should be wearing heels and I look ridiculous.

My some of my relatives said I should rock my height and heels are painful and count my height as a blessing.
Why do most tall females get crap for wearing heels? Society and life is so unfair to women above average height. Even my mom who is 5’10-5’11” gets comments too and told me to embrace my height, put them heels on and rock them! Make the haters jealous.

Listen. You have a lot of feeling and passion around this question and, truthfully, I understand why. I also think you are definitely misinterpreting the reality. There are plenty of men out there who love a tall woman. One of my friends married a woman who is 6’0” and she regularly wears 4” platform heels. He is 6’2” and just loves her for who she is.

I wish I could give some really inspiring specifics but even an few minutes of googling some perfunctory information about the story I’d like to offer will return results about them and privacy is neighbors to respect.

Just be you, be comfortable in your own skin, and wear what you want to wear. Understand the dating world is difficult as hell. A lot of times people with a unique trait believe their trait is the source of whatever difficulties they may be experiencing and are not aware that the reality is those challenges are common and others simply don’t have a singular issue they can blame them on. Being tall, even very tall, is not a bad thing at all. I KNOW we all tend to focus on the negative things people say - sometimes many, many, years later those things haunt us but try not to let them. There is a man out there dreaming of a woman like you this very moment.

Anyways getting back to your question. I don't know why people behave the way they do about stuff like this. Doesn't seem to me like it should be that big of a deal. But I want to say something about high heals. High-heals makes a woman's legs look good, but it doesn't seem to me that the human body is designed to walk around in high-heals.

Geeeeezzzuuuusss, I have never related to a question more than this. I've gotten, "why do you 'need' to wear heels." "You can't wear heels to prom because you'll make your boyfriend look short." "You should probably wear flats as my bridesmaid so you don't stick out from the others with your height." "People will assume you're a man, if you wear high heels at your height." "Just count yourself lucky that you don't 'have to' wear heels like the rest of us short women."

It just makes me want to scream sometimes, but luckily, I've never listened to any of these people who insist on these comments. I want to wear heels because I want to and I like them. If someone feels emasculated, or inferior, or thinks I'm something I'm not over a shoe, that's a you problem. My life is not governed by their opinions of what I should or should not wear, and I have one proud dad who is also very tall, who has never made me squish down in a picture, or buy the flats instead of the heels. My height is a gift, not a curse.

You cannot change how other people react to the things you do, but you can change your attitude about it. There are two ways to deal with this.

1. Get pissed off that the world is the way it is.

2. Do what you want to do and accept that some other people might not like it.

The choice is yours. How important is it to wear heels? Clearly wearing heals at your height is something some other people find unappealing, for whatever reason. Is it more important than what other people think? More important than what your partner thinks? These are decisions you have to make in life. But the important thing is that you need to be happy with your decision. Getting annoyed with society for being the way it is is not a good approach to problems like this because it is not good for you to be annoyed. Decide what is important to you and base your behavior on that.

This is true. But it is nature that is the unfair part. Nature has an immutable influence on society. Nature designed males and females to have certain traits that serve its evolutionary purpose. Not everyone fits into that perfect natural mold. But nature has no concept of "fariness," only an evolutionary purpose. Again, you can live your life pissed off about it or you can decide what is important to you and focus on that.

I live in a country where we measure height differently, but I assume you are really tall, probably like most MEN are. I think the problem is that you just meet MEN WHO instinctively prefer shorter women as they can feel 'bigger' and more masculine with them. On the other hand, there are plenty I know who just stare at women's legs and the longer they are the better, so by wearing heels you just become more attractive to them, probably to the point when they can't articulate any logical thoughts, so you don't hear their praise. When IT comes to shorter women, they are just jealous. Try putting yourself in their shoes, no matter how high their heels will be, they will never be as gorgeous as you and its killing them. That's why just be proud of your heigh and wear your heels if you like them.

Can't relate. I've been 5'9" wearing 4 inch heels even with men who are 2-4 inches shorter than me without heels. They've never complained, only thrown me on a bed to ravage me.

My daughter is 5'10" and has never gotten complaints about her in heels either. She's also dated shorter guys.

Men are always more focused on our looks than us being tall. Only one guy has ever rejected me for being tall, but he followed me around flirting for a decade after.

So, I don't know what kinds of insecure men you're chasing/attracting... It's weird

I have gotten negative feedback from short girls in high school who said they have to wear heels to be my height, and that's unfair enough without me wearing heels too. Sounds like a personal problem to me. 🤷‍♀️

Heels are for midgets, you're not a midget. If you want to be 6'8" and look like Godzilla in silly 4" heels, then you're going to scare off all the guys under 6'8" and have even less guys to choose from. If you wear normal shoes at least you will still get the guys who are your real height or slightly taller. Yeah it's stupid but that's the way guys think, because there are so many women out there who don't want a guy shorter than them. Even worse, there are a lot of women that only want a guy who is taller than them when they are wearing their dumb high heels. So if you're only looking for a guy who is over 6'8", wear the heels.

Ignore what people think and wear them if you want to. I'm tall (ish) and wear heels up to 5 inches. The guys I have gone out with have always loved them, even if it makes them a bit shorter than me, so what's not to like? I suspect that women who tell you not to wear them are probably jealous because, for whatever reason, they don't wear heels themselves

Wearing 4 inch heels is nothing in my opinion. I'm 4'9 and only have 2 pairs of heels and they're probably shorter than yours (I don't see any appeal in wearing those super long skinny heels). I don't wear mine too often though as they're usually for formal occasions, or at least one of them is. I'd say just wear whatever you want. Heel or no heel. 👠👡
