Why do women wear heels and compare their height with men?

Something that's very puzzling is why wear heels to feel tall? They all tell us to embrace our height naturally but wear heels. Self esteem issues?

I don't, I wear heels occasionally to match with my outfit and make my legs look longer.
Dad is more with this than me, like once I was wearing my favourite pair of heels, at that time I was 5'5" (now I'm 5'6") and the heels were 4". He asked if I were taller than him by wearing the heels (jokingly, obviously) while he is 5'10".
So, it's not always a female thing and it's mostly joking. Unless it's bragging about that 24/7.

Nah... I've plenty height already, unless you pit Gwendoline Christie on heels. My friend does that all the time, she's like 5'8, wearing stilletos she's like 6'1. And then she's always like 'I'm almost as tall as you.' Annnnd its not the one time. Its every single time. I've to rant. Phew.
