Which did you find the most uncomfortable, the last few weeks before you started wearing a bra or the first few weeks you wore one?

Neither really. I already had some cami-tops, so when my breasts started to develop wore one of those most days. Getting my first cupped bra seemed to be a natural progression, although it did take me a few days to get used to it, especially fastening the hooks at the back.

Unfortunately those cami-tops weren't around when I was growing up, so had to go straight from a vest (or nothing) to a proper bra.

The first few weeks after I started wearing one were the most awkward as it felt weird wearing it, plus I felt like everyone could see it through my shirt. It took a few months to get use to wearing it.

Yes I was the same. Mum bought me my first bras as a birthday present, but I didn't start wearing them straight away because it felt like an iron band round my chest when I tried one one. Also it seemed to emphasis my newly acquired 'assets' (I'd been quite happy as a flat-chested tomboy).
Eventually nature prevailed and doing PE etc without one became too uncomfortable.

Did someone suggest it was time you started wearing a bra or did you realise it yourself?

Yes my Mom did. My nipples were starting show and she didn't want other people to see them.

I think that's the reason my mum bought me some too. Some clothes, including my school uniform were OK without, but with some I definitely needed another layer either underneath or a jumper over the top. When I tried on my PE shirt again before going back to school after the summer holidays it was obvious that I needed a bra underneath.
Had anyone else commented on your nipples before mum suggested getting you a bra?

At first they did jiggle as the only thing changing were my nipples as they were getting larger and were puffy. I didn't mind other people seeing I was wearing a bra as it made me feel older. By the end of the day the straps were uncomfortable and it felt good to take it off.

I’m having a hard time imagining which to be most uncomfortable - I’d compare it to wearing underwear versus going commando as a guy lmao.
I’d say the weeks going commando are worse / weeks going without support is worse tbh based on my male physique lol.

Yes, my Ex told me they weren't allowed to wear anything under their PE shorts for the first two years at secondary school (so aged 11 to 13). He said towards the end of that time he was starting to feel uncomfortable when doing some exercises and was relieved when they were advised to start wearing a jockstrap for support.
At least we could start to wear a bra when we (or our mums) thought we needed on. Our PE teacher did speak to a few girls about starting to wear one though.

@andreatwo2 Not wear anything underneath PE shorts… I never heard of such a ridiculous rule, good thing they were advised to wearing jockstraps. Yeah jockstraps are way more supportive, I never heard jockstraps inspired the first sports bra (two jockstraps sewn together lol) so speaking as a man with two balls…. Support is a must whether guy or gal. Does your ex still wear jockstraps?

Yes, it did sound odd. I guess at 11 they didn't have much that needed support, but for some of them it was a different matter by the age of 13. He certainly wore jockstraps for sport when we were married, but don't know about now.
I heard about the jockstraps / sports bra thing too, but don't know whether it's true or not.
Sports bras weren't around when I was at school, so we had to make do with our ordinary bras. Some of the girls could definitely have done with something more supportive for PE later on in school! Did you wear a jockstrap?

@andreatwo2 Speaking as a man who used to be a kid at one point, yeah I didn’t need support though as a I became a teen to even now I need support. Our testicles hang lower ig to maximize sperm production for puberty & adulthood. You should follow me and message me so we can discuss further, yeah I wore a jockstrap for PE too. If it were a choice between commando or jockstrap, I’d take jockstrap much more comfortable for me personally.
