Well, I wash and condition every couple of days. That keeps it healthy if you use good product. Even average hair products do a good job, but I tend to by the higher end stuff.

I have a specific brand that just works well for my hair. As far as keeping it from being tangled, that is simply straightening it and then brushing my hair regularly. Not that hard.
