Why is my hair always so ugly?

when i try to curl it, it becomes messy and ugly. when i straighten it, its flat and boring. and the color doesn't help either.

You just haven't found your style. I grow my ginger hair real long and it's down past my lower back at this stage, i think it looks really well. Try braiding and platting your hair. Ponytails and pigtails.

Perhaps get your hair done by a professional stylist once and watch closely, then do whatever she did.

I kinda feel the same about my hair at times. It gets frizzy AF, especially after showers. I have to put this antifrizz gel on it to stop it and then my hair just looks flat and boring for days.

Maybe trying some new products might help bring out some of the features you are looking for. My wife usually does her hair a deeper red color and I think it looks great. Maybe you could also try dyeing it.
