I believe its easier for women to be attractive. If a guy has a hairline that goes bad and he shaves it, most women dont like bald men. If he doesn't have facial hair, a lot of women dont like that. His wardrobe, facial hair, facial structure and height need to be specific to whatever liking the woman has. With women it's simple because its less specific and more universal. Put on makeup, brush or comb hair (they dont have to worry about bald), dont be obese (even BBW and thick are desired), dont smell and you're in... wardrobe dont even matter as far as style as long as you're half way decent. Feel like men have to put in more work (gym, facial exercises, calories burned, haircut, grooming, etc.).

8 moWomen definitely. Men don't care for makeup, and generally the more makeup a girl uses, the less attractive she actually is. Women could wake up, brush their teeth, comb their hair (not even straighten it... just give it natural vibes) and men would be attracted to them. The bar is much lower for women than it is for men.
However, if they choose to live a life of sloth and abundance, not working out and eating for craving rather than when they need to, then they can easily become obese and unattractive, which seems to be the case for most women in the west these days. It's to the point where obesity rates have tripled since 1975.
Women were far more attractive back then due to the lifestyles they lived, their physical shape, and the fact they were more feminine.
I went on a tangent there, but females have it easier than men to be attractive. They always receive more attention than men.00 Reply

Anonymous(45 Plus)8 moI'd say it's a stalemate. Because men having higher expectations than women physically. But women have the advantage that they are women.
I mean an avg. woman finds about 10% of men attractive. While an avg. guy finds about 40% to 60% of women attractive. So that's why it's always a numbers game for guys. A woman walks into a room and half the guys are going to be attracted to her on the avg. And she knows it. This is why women are so nonchalant about attraction. Unless she's got some kind of narcissisistic complex. Because those type of women it's not about being attractive. It's about having the attention of EVERY guy.

Anonymous(18-24)8 moIt really varies by individuals.
for me it’s easier for a man to be attractive, and it’s just based on day to day things I see in the town I live in. It’s very hard as a woman to be seen as attractive let alone date as a poc.
I've gotten rejected for my skin color, the fact that I have a small gap in my teeth, because I’m tall. The list goes on, these guys have really nitpicked at me, which that’s okay there’s not much I can do about it. Yet I’ve seen guys I consider unattractive in relationships…. So it’s definitely easier for men in my town, i can’t really say much about the women here as I don’t view many of them as pretty.

Asker8 moI've also seen legitimate handsome men get completely ignored in bars or get no messages no phone calls or texts and invisible where as average women usually get more attention than them.
Opinion Owner8 moDefinitely. But we also live in a world where there are people who are definitely handsome or pretty yet they also end up being the most ignored.
Like I’ve asked my male friends to be completely honest with me and tell me straight up if I’m just ugly, and 3/5 said that I was pretty and that because I show my natural look 24/7 that they’d say I’m a 7-8/10 while the other two said that they think I’m pretty but don’t enjoy the natural look and said I’m a 6/10. It really just depends, I’m not gonna do what all these other woman do which is be fake and wear the fake nails and use makeup to make there faces “perfect” cause once they take it off they look different.
But hey I mean I have not a single guy in my phone that is interested in me or wants to take me out on a date, no calls or messages. So it’s really just where the person is located- 8 mo
Who are these handsome or pretty people mostly being ignored though? Asking friends to rate your looks isn’t that accurate they usually won’t be totally honest to avoid hurting your feelings. You could try something like PhotoFeeler for a more objective idea.
I’ve spoken to thousands of guys, and honestly, fake nails or heavy makeup don’t change much. If you’re genuinely around a 6/10 as a woman, it’s surprising you wouldn’t have anyone interested, unless you’re in a really small or isolated area.
Rejection based on skin color definitely happens, but it can go both ways. Add being under 5'10" or not hitting the 6ft mark for guys, and that’s another major filter. I’m curious what would you say are the uncontrollable factors that get women completely written off by men?
Opinion Owner8 mo@Jammannn not sure? But I live in a predominantly white area, you can count the amount of black people in my area…. We all know each other and hang out every few months there are about 15 of us.
For me I don’t need a guy that’s 6ft 🤷🏽♀️ I’m okay with a guy that’s my height which is 5’7. As I live in a predominantly white area the only time I’ve heard anything really regarding height is from the white women…. So
Attractiveness isn’t about gender, it’s about energy.
A woman can turn heads, but a man can command a room, both without saying a word when they carry self awareness instead of insecurity.
Physical beauty fades, presence doesn’t.
It’s easier for anyone to be attractive when they’ve mastered authenticity.
Because real allure isn’t in the face or the body it’s in how you make people feel your confidence without needing their approval.
Looks catch attention.
Energy keeps it.37 Reply
Asker8 moYou guys can attract options by breathing.
Asker8 moMost men don't remember most women? Remember women find 80% of men unattractive but men are attracted to like 60% of women or something like that.
- 8 mo
True, but statistics don’t define chemistry.
Attraction isn’t purely numbers, it’s nuance.
You can meet hundreds of “attractive” people and still only feel something real with one.
Connection goes beyond percentages, it’s about presence, alignment, and how someone makes you feel seen. - 8 mo
It’s definitely easier for one gender to succeed online than the other by an order of magnitude. And since most people meet online these days, that difference really matters. Even a picture of a female foot has hundreds more oppourtunities than an average guy
The idea that “physical beauty fades” sounds wise, but realistically, it fades long after the point where most people would want to start a family 40s, 50s so it’s not that meaningful.
Authenticity’s nice in theory, but there are plenty of people lying their way to success. The practical move is improving your physical presentation; looks, fitness, style since that creates more opportunities, which then builds confidence naturally.
And sure, real allure is how you make people feel, but let’s be honest: you only care about the opinions of people you actually value, not everyone in the room. there's a reason why the most attractive people have the most success. - 8 mo
You make valid points, physical appeal does open doors, and presentation does matter.
But chemistry isn’t a transaction of symmetry or statistics.
It’s not about who gets more attention, it’s about who creates meaningful attention.
Yes, looks can amplify confidence, but depth sustains it.
The world can reward surface yet the ones who truly connect never chase the crowd, they attract alignment.
The rarest currency isn’t beauty or access. It’s resonance that quiet, unmistakable pull no algorithm can calculate. - 8 mo
Without those open doors, nothing exists. You haven’t really encountered that based on your approach you’re looking at the next stage: how to filter.
Chemistry might feel spontaneous, but it’s built on perception, and perception is shaped by symmetry and statistics. Without visibility, depth never gets a chance to show up.
The resonance you’re describing tends to follow the same pattern: the most attractive people simply get the most chances to feel it. Women tend to aim up when they date, men cast a wide net. That leads to one group having plenty of opportunities and another struggling to get any.
It’s not that the pull isn’t real it’s just that beauty/social status decides who even gets to experience it.
AI Opinion
Attractiveness can be subjective and varies from person to person. Society often places different expectations on men and women when it comes to beauty. Women may feel pressured to maintain certain beauty standards, including makeup and hair, while men might focus more on fitness or grooming. However, what one person finds attractive can greatly differ from another's perspective. Ultimately, confidence and self-expression can play significant roles in how attractiveness is perceived for both genders. 😊

What Girls & Guys Said

I think the scales are different, I think it is easy for a guy to look fine or normal, and, I think that is all that is actually necessary. Exercise a little, do 5 minutes of daily grooming, dress normal. That is enough nearly all the time.
But, I think standards can be higher or tougher for women, if we just did what I just said, we would be considered plain or frumpy, so I think we try harder on average, so I think we look better on average, but we don’t get much credit for it unless we look good compared w other girls. I mean honestly I silently judge how other girls dress and stuff like that way more than I judge how guys look, I don’t mean to, but it happens anyway. JMO!00 Reply384 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. It is easier for women because most of what makes them attractive is them not purposely making themselves ugly. For example, tattoos, obesity, nose rings, unnaturally colored short hair, etc. are all things women purposely do to themselves and can EASILY be avoided. Most men are okay with a woman being a 5 or better in looks, but so many women these days are actually ugly and they did it to themselves.
Men on the other hand need to be tall (have no influence over that), need to be physically fit (not the same thing as just being slim), and need to have a strong jawline. Being physically fit is MUCH more difficult and requires frequent, never ending work, where as staying slim is much easier.
The majority of women have unrealistic standards because they only think of what they want, not what they qualify for. People can want whatever they want, but when they are VERY low quality in comparison, they should expect to be repeatedly disappointed.

Anonymous(18-24)8 moWhile I agree, men have to put more effort, I hardly ever see a woman dating a man who is more attractive than her. But I see plenty of examples, of women who date men below their league.
I think men put a lot more value into their partner's appearance. Yes, the bar isn't high, but the bar is more important. Perhaps it's just me, but I have often gone from finding a man ugly, to absolutely feral for him when I get to know him or build some kind of fantasy in my head.
There are only a few select men who has me looking at them twice, because they are just that good looking. Most of my crushes haven't had me look twice, until I grew fond of them. Then they suddenly became the hottest.
And a bald men can be very hot! Shaved heads are super hot00 Reply
8 moHard to say it truly depends on the individual.
The one thing I can say though is that men age far more gracefully, for example as a man gets older so long as he takes care of himself he just looks more sophisticated. Unfortunately it doesn't happen like that for women even if we take good care of ourselves.01 Reply
Asker8 moEven women in their 40s can get men in bed who are in their 20s. For dating women being women is a cheat code in itself.
It’s not easy for anyone
Men and women need to put in effort to be attractive
It’s easy to think someone does it effortlessly
But underneath they always put in a lot a of work
Skin care, hair care, fitness, grooming, diet, style, hygiene and smell
Both men and women need to improve on those to be attractive00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)8 moI think women have it difficult in some conditions.
They have beauty standards which are difficult to fit in.
Match the colour with skin so that there skin is complimented with the dress.
Taking care of food, going to the gym (that is something everyone should if they have good limes) skin care.
Shaving, being feminine but strong enough to defend themselves, being always on guard.
Then worst of all, ignoring the whole world who wants to be with them forever but selecting who is cheating, or some other shit.00 Reply
8 moIts definitely easier for women.. Even other women sometimes find each other attractive as opposed to men.. TBF a lot of guys don't put a whole lot of effort into their appearance.. But I think men's worship of women through hypersexuality has inflated women's status quite a bit as well..
00 Reply939 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Depends entirely on what they have to start with. I've known girls for whom there was no effort at all involved in looking beautiful. And guys the same way; obviously basic hygiene is required for both.
Other people, again of both sexes, seem to be impossible to makeover.
00 Reply716 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I don't know. Tbh there is a lot of pressure for women today to look and be a certain way; the measure for what guys find attractive nowadays is generally unrealistic.

Asker8 moUnrealistic? Im a legitimately handsome guy told to me by many and I assure you an average looking woman or average looking women could get laid three times faster than I could. How does that translate to men having unrealistic expectations as far as looks?

@HighValue Yeah, loads. Just look online.
Asker8 mo@dishlady most women can attract men just by looking half way decent and not being obese.. just look at the ratio of men who like women to women who like men. Definitely the opposite of men being unrealistic. If anything men are too laxed on their standards.
2.1K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. It is much easier for women. They have far more options with hair color and hairstyle and clothing, type and colors and choose of various heights and all sorts of other beauty enhancing and interested accessories. Men really have no such things to speak of or if they do it is considered unmanly to use them. I think women definitely have the advantage in this area.
00 ReplyOn average women but for a guy its easier to compensate for childhood mistakes apart from lack of height due to poor sleep or bad diet.
Most ugly women had a bad diet in their childhood which has affected things like their facial features.
This can be compensated but only so much.

8 moMust be easier for men. A woman has to spend hours getting her hair and nails done, then another 30-60 minutes putting her makeup on, in order for her to feel attractive.
A man just throws on a clean shirt

8 moI feel like it’s easier for men.. a haircut is a man’s makeup. But for women, it’s weight, skin tone, makeup style, body type, hair lengths, breast sizes, personality, etc… way too much pressure..

Asker8 moYeah right. For some men bald is the only way because their hairline cannot be salvaged. And a lot of women dont like bald. And a haircut does not automatically lead to men getting women or even attracting them. If he doesn't have a certain height or athletic build that also disqualifies him. And men also have to be charming and have the gift of gab, conversation, etc.. Meanwhile a woman can obtain sexual partners just by being decent looking, doesn't even have to be pretty. Its harder for the man because he has more boxes to check in order to not get rejected or chosen.

Asker8 moPut on makeup, not be fat and majority of men would go home with you after a night out on town. You dont need a specific style, or specific type of make up.. you dont even have to be in shape like that... sounds pretty simple to me. Meanwhile a handsome man could get ignored the entire night if he doesn't initiate or if he isn't the woman's specific type. He could be a clean cut handsome man and she might like that tattoo leather jacket rugged bad boy look.. its simpler for y'all as opposed to men.
Asker8 moThere's some reality for you.

Are you most women? You talk like you speak for half the population, but your comments are pure hostility toward men, not actual insight. Try addressing points instead of projecting.
You don’t need to personally know “most women” to see consistent trends online data, surveys, and social behavior studies make it pretty clear how the standards differ.
8 moEasier yes because its more about beauty for women and we can always get plastic surgery/fillers
For men its more about looking masculine. Not really pretty.
