I wore a watch all my life. I got a really nice flexible watch band with an 18 carat gold emblem and 3 diamonds for my 25th anniversary at work. Years later the band broke. By then I had a cell phone and didn't wear a watch for a long time.
I had the emblem made into a tie tack. Now it just sits in a box.

But I missed having a watch. I'm not one of those people who always has my phone in my hand all the time. So my wife bought one for me a couple years ago. It's not an expensive watch but it looks nice. I don't believe in expensive watches.
It's handy to just look at my wrist to see the time even though I usually have a cell phone nearby.

Oh, and I am perfectly capable of reading the hands of a watch or clock. LOL
