I have a double cowlick with thick and coarse hair. Its also dark red but that won't affect things.

My hair stuck out on the side like a wing. No matter what I did it would pop up. Instead of my usual barber I want to a stylist that was near where I worked. He said my hair needed to grow together. He cut it with scissors only and it looked good and the wing never cane back.
