It's controversial, ankles aren't a permanent body modification so I think the intent is where the importance is, if you aren't using it to be seductive then it's only a style of fashion, if you are using it to be fetishized then I'm sure you know how that can be considered a bad intent, as for tattoos, the Bible only speaks against the markings of the body used to worship other gods, which back in the times the people used to use tattoos to worship other gods and use tattoos for rituals, some people still do like tribes and stuff, one can argue all day long about how God sees tatting, but one thing that is mentioned in the Bible that points more against then anything is how God says you should harm your body as it's the temple of God, you poking and tinting the layers of skin I'm sure can surely count towards that.

i've seen a fair number of christian girls with tattoo's , some have crosses or quotes on there side ribs , i'd say its actually fairly common for those girls to do that. is some who of course don't have any but does seem like its more common to be inked now than before
