What does it mean when a guy keeps looking at your neck/necklace (I'm not sure which)?

This guy I like kept looking at my neck or necklace, I'm not sure which, while we were talking. I had been fidgeting with my necklace during the conversation and he later commented on the necklace, but why would he look at my face then look down, and repeat that three times?

Okay, I'm going to be serious here. Maybe he likes you and since you keep on holding your necklace which looks like that you're very attached to it while talking, he complimented it so that he could score.
