I found a string of messages to a woman on an online game chat and while all of the talk was mainly about the game and seemed harmless the conversation was started with "hey babe wyd?" And I could not find any previous conversations.

When a woman says confronted what she really means is accused. You threw his entire character into question, by acting like he was being unfaithful. Of course this is going to end up as a fight. It is insulting, and tells the other person that there is no trust in the relationship, which makes the other person more insecure in the relationship, and with the need to prove themselves by getting defensive and fighting back. There is no way this wouldn't end up as a big fight.

Babe is totally innocent, it is like saying dude. You should shallow your pride, and apologize, to end the fight. If you don't want him speaking that way to other women that is understandable, and you can calmly express that to him, but you are reading way too much into a single word choice.

i think he shouldn't call like that. i think you should talk about this with your husband and clearly say him that ''don't call any female as babe except me again''if he claims that it's normal. start to play online games and call one of male gamers as handsome and see how he will react

I dont think he is cheating. But still like someone else said it is inappropriate of him. If my boyfriend called baby to another girl i'd be fuming. I am his baby after all and only me. Maybe you should see if there's anything that needs to be improved in your marriage? Maybe you guys are not communicatong as you used to? Confront him about it, but in a calm understanding manner. Do not acuse him of nothing. Just try to understand the why he calls her babe... I don't know hope i helped

it may have been harmless, but that doesn't mean he should be doing it. I would be upset if I saw this and I would have spoken to him about it. Just speak to him again and explain that you do trust him, and you can see from the conversation that he isn't crossing any lines, but that you feel uncomfortable with him calling another woman babe. if he still doesn't see your point, start calling the mail man, the trash guy, your coworkers babe... see how he likes it.

I think it's neither harmless nor does it mean that something is going on. Basically he shouldn't be calling other women that, but I wouldn't accuse him of cheating just yet.
If he persists, then it's another issue completely, but maybe you should give him a chance to redeem himself?

Some people just say hun, babe, sweetie, and stuff like that because thats the way they are use to talking, not necessarily flirting if you hear them say it all the time.
Its a way of not having to learn someones name and still addressing them haha

I think it's harmless cuz chances are the girl he was talking to lives across the world and when u play a game u can I get lost in the moment of the game however though I still don't think he should be calling her that regardless if it's harmful or not but he probley doesn't even know what she looks like

I think it's harmless. I mean he's not asking her for pictures and it isn't Sex talk so he's just making conversation. Just keep an eye the convoy. If it changes to something more sexual then I'd confront him about it

I can understand where the concern comes in because things like him calling a girl hun is understandable but babe to us females had more meaning and is an indicator of a relationship, but since that was the only suspicious thing you found then its most likely nothing else just relax and make it clear to him that you don't want to fight you would just appreciate it if he wouldn't call other females babe 😊
