He doesn't give me a straight yes or no answer, what does that mean?

My friend asked my crush if he would date me because we would look good together. Note; I did not ask my friend to do that. Anyways, I found out about it and laughed with my crush about it after as an embarrassing part of our lives.

I told him that my friend said he was just joking around to make me feel better about how my crush had indirectly rejected me. But all he said was "I didn't say anything to him, I was so embarrassed." Do you think there's a chance he could like me back?

Here's an easier way for you guys to answer; if a friend told you that you would look good with a girl/guy that you had no interest in, would you laugh? or care at all?

ide guess that if he's a little emberrased he does like you and didn't expect to be asked that because even though your freind asked him as a joke he probly does like you and got emberrased because he didn't know anyone knew that he liked you even though you didn't exactly know...lol pretty confuseing...(read it over twice) lol so I think he does like you and you should go talk to him casually then if you feel like the moments right tell him you like him...hopefully he sais the same back :) goood luck

As a rule of thumb, anything other than a "yes" means "no."

If he didn't say no, then there's always the possibility that he could like you. He may not have thought your friend was serious, or he may have felt uncomfortable with the way it was brought up. The only way to really know for sure is to ask him.

It sounds like a no, but maybe now that your friend asked him about it, your crush may start to think about it as a possibility, so I wouldn't get your hopes up, but stay the good friend you have been, just in case he turns around.
