by text, and you have not actually had your first date yet, should I be concerned?

In other words, would a guy who was interested in dating and seeing where things go say that or would that only come from someone interested in sex and not much more? He has said nothing else along those lines, other than commenting on me being cute, but no other talk other than getting to know me.

Just curious if a guy who was serious about dating someone would say that or not?

I am all for seeing how things go when you date, but the last time I dated there was no texting or e-mail, etc. And, now, I do notice certain patterns that make me curious. For instance, guys who ask you to send pics constantly.

I understand when you meet online that they want to make sure you are who you say you are, but sometimes I wonder that they are just trying to see if you will send them something racy. 1 or 2 of these guys have kept in touch but haven't moved to dating.

Back in the day, people either dated or had one-night stands. There wasn't all the grey area and certainly not much of a chance of keeping up much if you did not actually meet in person. People didn't do much phone sex on landlines, lol.

It's all within his reality in his mind which he hopes to translate into your reality. Go on a date with him and see if he follows through with that kind of confidence. If he is really shy when he actually meets you, then he isn't as confident as he sounded before (aka Letting you know how "sexy" "cute" you are). If he has that same reality and confidence when he goes on a date with you, it simply means he can maintain that mood and confidence. He is showing his intentions here by stating that he is attracted to you. Some guys are too shy sometimes and don't let you know how they think about you so you get more confused. So relax and just examine his confidence and see if it matches with what he "texts" you. Remember it's about what we DO that matters, not what we men say. Good luck.

I try to answer the question but it went to be anonymous. anyway like I said before I'm not into txt or I'm because if there's something I wanna say I would rather say that on the phone if I was busy to meet up in person.. remember one thing always going out on a date for the first time with someone new is a risk that we all take and don't judge on him from the first date too.

I think you are analyzing it way too much.

It doesn`t matter what his text meant. If you are interested in him so far, and he is ineterested, then go on a date with him.

It is better to judge his intentions in person, rather than text or online.

The only way you can tell if a person is being true, is by looking at their actions around you.

You will know if he just wants sex, or if he truly cares about gettin to know you.

I am not concerned about it, but curious. It would be good to be able to differentiate the insincere guys from the ones that are interested in dating you for more than a possible hookup, but I get it. Yes, you just have to go out with them and see where it goes.

Most likely its a booty call, so be slightly weary, but don't diss him entirely. He could have not thought it out, and just wanted you to know that he feels you are sexy.

My boyfriend tells me that I am sexy fairly often, so its not just a booty call thing to do (though he never really told me that until we became fairly serious)

Only difference is he is your boyfriend. I guess I am always a bit suspect of people that are complimentary to any great degree before they actually meet you but that is just me. I think also, that the last time I dated it was before e-mail, texting, IM'ing, so guys are definitely more comfortable saying a lot of things on text, but don't act that way in person.

i 'm not a big fan of email or txt unless I'm away from home for work like now. if I meet someone onliine I will ask for there number and talk to them on the phone for a while then ask them out to see them in person. send some random pic just to assure him that you'r real. go to the date and you can tell if he's into getting to know you thing or something else.

I agree. The electronic communication just makes it too easy for people to say things that they never would on the phone. Any guy who calls me versus just texting me instantly appears just so much more confident and sincere (though even that is not always the case). I also agree that if you have enough rapport with someone on the phone you just need to meet them in person versus relying on photos.
