Girls, if you like a guy do you try and provoke him to say he likes you?

Let me explain. There's a girl I know, who now this may be just my mind going stupid, but maybe tries to provoke me to say I like her? A couple of examples. She's brunette, but she tells me that I like blondes, but then goes onto say it's all about personality anyway. Another thing is I was talking about joining a club, to which she said I might meet the love of my life.
I have in the past hinted that I like her.
Am I overthinking? Girls do you do this to try an provoke him to say something g like 'actually no, I like brunettes, or I have already found her'

Sounds like she's testing you. Girls like to test men it's called the 'shit test' (look it up) it comes in many forms, it's a way to re-assure herself of your attraction towards her. But generally if you have a gut feeling she likes you, then she probably likes you.

If she's testing you, it means she has an initial attraction towards you, but she could easily lose those feelings if you don't pass her test. eg... if she tries to make you jealous and you don't look bothered, she may think you don't like her and move on, or if she's says "you like blonds" and you reply "yes" she may think you don't like her (brunettes). If you like her try to give her the answer she wants to hear i. e "duo you like brunettes"? You reply..."I love brunettes, they are my type"
