What if a guy picks up your pencil for without you even asking?

We're in middle school. Ok, so me and my crush sit by each other in one of our classes. Then I had dropped my pencil by accident (not on purpose) then when I reached out to get it, my crush had put his shoe on my pencil and he got my pencil then he just stood there staring and smiling at me with my pencil in his hand and I told him to give it back politely and then he just stared and smiled and gave it back to me. I know this might not mean nothing but I just want to know. So, what if a guy picks up your pencil for you without you even asking?

Thats kind of hard to tell it sounds like he likes you he could just be a gentleman though. I would say he likes you because you said he stared and smiled. I dont think i would stare and smile at a girl unless i had a crush on her, he might be trying to let you know that he likes you try it again see what kind of reaponse you get :)
