"Would you like to go out with me sometime?"

Nine words. Simple, direct, to the point. Very little room for confusion or misinterpretation of intent, especially when spoken with a laid-back confidence.

Both guys and girls: Is this a good line for a guy to drop on a girl (i.e., a girl that he's friendly with, who SEEMS to like him) to ask for a date AND to show he's interested in dating her, NOT "hanging out" as friends?

I've read many dating guides that say it SHOULDN'T be said like this, that the term "hang out" or "tag along" would be better, in order to take the pressure of a "date" off. I've also heard that it's better for the guy to SPECIFY an actual activity for the date, instead of just generically asking if the girl would date him. But I'm wondering if this is a good question for a guy who doesn't otherwise really know how to flirt/show he likes a girl romantically.

(NOTE: If she says yes, the guy could THEN mention the specific activity, how's that?)

Just want some opinions on this approach. Thanks.

First of all...you sound just like every other guy out there who doesn't know what he's doing. Let me ask you a question, do you want to be a tool who's used abused and spat on? Or do you want to be the alpha male who directs and commands and leads a woman? I'm guessing you chose the latter because no one wants to be a tool. Alpha men don't ask, we tell. Instead of saying, "Hey, would you like to go out with me sometime," say,"Hey, you're a pretty cool girl, we need to go out sometime." This way you're not asking her, you're not giving her the option of saying no. What is she going to say "we don't need to go out sometime"? Doubt It. And for girls who you just met like a day ago and haven't established yourself then use the "hang out" way because it does take pressure off of them. But when asking a girl out on a date, a man tells her there going on a date. Once she says okay and you tell her when, as alpha males our only job is to set up a time, don't tell her where you're going and ask if it's okay. Woman want to be led, they want to be told what to do, they want you to have the authority. So tell her you need to go out. When she says yeah we do don't say, "what day are you free?" Say, "okay I'm thinking this weekend like friday." If she has plans she'll tell you when she's free, this way she freely tells you, DON'T ASK! Remember, grab your balls, have you ever seen the movie 'Bringin Down the House' starring Queen Latifah and Steve Martin? Well there's one scene where he puts big balls in his pants to emphasize his masculinity. Grab your balls, say "I'm the man", "I make the rules", and "this girl would be lucky to even look in my direction let alone talk to me, and to date me? That would be a miracle from God on her part. But I'll fulfill her wish and take her out on a date, sure I'm feeling charitable, and God did say it is better to give than to receive." Have confidence and remember who you are, you are the schitt. And remember, any girl would be the luckiest girl in the world to date you man.

Hey man, thanks for the alpha male perspective, I am familiar with it, and I'm aware that my line sounds just a little bit needy/looking for approval. I guess I'm driving at finding out what the girl thinks of me (again, I know, the alpha man puts his own desires first, HE's the one to qualify the girl). Do you think my approach might work with the shy, quiet, low-key type of girl who I'm interested in a relationship with, or is the "tell, don't ask" policy still the best?

Hey thanks, and yes you're apprach would work for a shy girl because she's already so fragile and reclusive that asking makes her feel more comfortable. I just didn't want you to walk up to a seasoned player and be all wimpy. Remember man, there are some cruel girls out there, and hippy may say she'd turn this down but she's not every girl, it sounded stronger than I meant it to be, but this is just a safeguard for biatches that really don't deserve the time of day. But yeah, do your thing man.

Well done, in one single thought you have made women objects. Here’s what you do; you explain your interest, ask if she would like to go on a date, and go from there. You don’t TELL her that she WILL go on a date with you, because that’s not actually an Alpha attitude. That’s a boy who is so afraid of rejection that he thinks that being an ass is manly. You ask her if she would like to go on a date, and tell her what you think the activity should be, and if she rejects you, you move on. Relationships sre built on mutual respect, and if you start the first potential interaction by saying, “YOU WILL GO OUT WITH ME BECAUSE I AM AN ALPHA”, then you have no chanve with anyone. You really want to be an Alpha? Then EARN IT. Focus on being a good man, and people will follow you. Respect is earned by deeds, and respect makes you an Alpha, not ordering. Because as soon as someone refuses your order, you will crumble.

@Tenor27 now that’s not true everyone always thinks to make a girl fall in love you need to hit 2 emotions “love and interest” but that’s not true. You don’t see alpha males take to there girls every second they first do there work and then text her back. You need to hit every emotion in a girl because girls have 100’s of emotions to do that you sometimes need to be strict and sometimes nice she should never know what you are or she will get bored 1 day you be nice the other a little mean those are the boys that girls like not those people that just show love girls don’t want those guys.

I would go along with what you said better than what Suave-Man said no offense but most of us can take that kind of behavior to be that of a control freak we do like the man to lead us the way but not to control by telling us and not asking is controlling I would turn you down in shot if you approached me this, there is a big line between leading and controlling. hope this helps
