Is it ok to hit on girls at the library? If yes how do you do it successfully?

In between classes at university I go to the library to get some work done but I often notice cute girls there as well. So how would I approach them? Is it true that headphones mean don't bother me?

LMAO at first I read "hit" as in physically hit someone, not hit ON someone and I was like "what? How would being at a library make that any less wrong?" and then I had to read the title again... hahahahahhaa anyyyyways.
Yes, headphones = don't bother me. Or, at the very least "I'm not expecting anyone to want to talk to me right now and I'm ok with that". If she's studying, chances are she might not want to be interrupted either. But then again, she might need a quick break from studying... and that break could involve you talking to her lol. So you could be all like "looks like you're studying hard. Need a break?" or something.
You could always ask her what she's reading or if she has any good recommendations. Then you could tell her about what you're reading and ask her if she's read it. If she says no, you could recommend it to her and then figure out how to continue the conversation. If she says yes, you could start talking about that book. Try to make it fun and flirty. Then you could ask her if she'd like to grab a cup of coffee sometime.

Generally girls who are at the library aren't looking to get hit on, and probably just want to be left alone. I spend a lot of time at the library and I absolutely despise it when random guys just start hitting on me. And yes, earphones definitely mean they want to be left alone. If you want to pick up girls, maybe try a club? I really don't think a library is the appropriate place...

I don't drink and clubs aren't my style, I feel like it attracts the type of people that I wouldn't be comfortable with. So what other place would you suggest?

Maybe try a mall, a park, some sort of event/party. To be honest you will probably find a lot of girls that just want to be left alone. Maybe try school? Like talk to a girl in your class, it'll be easy because you can just ask her a question about an assignment or lesson, or even just strike up a conversation about the lesson so you don't come off as creepy or like you're trying to hit on her (even if you are).

Eh, if she's legitimately studying, best not to interrupt that. I like being left alone in the library. I'd in making eye contact with a guy and I'm smiling, MAYBE, but I mainly go to the library to do work, not pick up guys. Try a bookstore and offer to buy her a book - that'd be a better bet at getting a date.
