+1 yWell in my country we have just come out of a season of slippery paths and roads and people have got used to walking arm in arm just to keep upright!
I find it wonderful and heartwarming when a girl/woman puts her arm through mine when we are walking - it is romantic when a very close in age lady does it and very warm and trusting when a younger woman does it. The filial trust that this simple action represents is touching and uplifting. When I have been very ill it has been encouraging, so I guess a hand slipping through the arm is romantic and a lot of other things. In my country many girls and women walk arm in arm and I know that this brings comfort and to the younger ones a comfort they do not get from the younger lads who are far too "cool" to be seen arm in arm - what a lot they miss out on, the ones going through the "Cool" years!
As an aside I would also say that amongst the more athletic I have heard a girl say that she put her arm through her man's because he was so long legged he kept leaving her behind otherwise!
Can I say this is a lovely question to answer on a nearly spring morning. Thank you for asking it!42 Reply- +1 y
Thank you toulouse, I am glad I have lived when I have - before the fixation of Celebrity and 'cool' and when there was so much to discover. I am still discovering now and do not let the attitudes of my peers dissuade me! One day you may feel so close that arm-in-arm is natural and warming within your heart, I do hope so!

I love it, it makes me feel more comfortable with her and more at ease. I find it romantic. I do mind mind it lasting for awhile either, if I had to I would carry her. Some people could call th long period of holding on my arm clingy but I have no problem with it, at all.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI am surprised at all thee answers... I think LOTS of guys would be disturbed by it.. makes them look weak or just to much closeness.. I might be biased cause my dad could not handle people touching him, & guys I tend to like are sort of reserved, but my brothers were normal, well one was & my uncle is normal & my grandfather,.. So idk, but I always assume, in general, people do not like to be touched.. I am always surprised when they 'reach out & touch some one' ^^
The guy I like NOW usually freaks out if I touch him.. Tho not other people. idk.07 Reply- +1 y
Oh really? O.o
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah, why did you give me an arrow down, it is not my VIEW, not what I support.. It is what I OBSERVE... It is based on my experience... I would like that not ot be the case utit is what ia hev observed. , there is a big world out ther e& iam sue all sorts of guys are out the.. Theones I see & hear about do not like be touched in public. A lot of girls are like that too, just as intensely. Could be I notice it more cause I expect it.. But yeah, pretty much :-)
Opinion Owner+1 yI can't believe how many posts say the love this.. Where are all the guys who HATE it cause I know you are out there..lol
& I am SURE If I walked up to the guy I like & I put my arm with his he would jump away or get REALLy tense & look at me like I just dumped an elephant on his lawn.
Actually now I am curious, but I do not think I have the nerve to do it. ^^- +1 y
Well, most people definetely DON'T like strangers touching them. But when it comes to friends, loved ones, and bf's/gf's, I think everybody loves physical contact. The level of which depends, of course, on the level of intimacy they want/expect in the relationship
Opinion Owner+1 yLots of people DON'T like to be touched.. It is my experience , why do keep getting down arrows with no COMMENT.. I am fine with the disagreement, but I am curious as to WHY. lolol
- +1 y
If I may add to these comments [I am not clicking up or down arrows!] I have two young women married into my extended family who actually said when taking leave for the first time that they preferred not to hug and I was amazed on doing a little research how common this is, I only sampled a small number so this is anecdotal but they were ALL 'only' children from the upper middle class [England! go figure!] but I am an 'only' child and I love arm-in-arm, hugs and cuddles. We're all different!

Holding my hand is romantic. Her holding my arm while I lead her around is NOT. I have a real problem with that. Women are not to be lead around on my arm, children get led because the are not capable of making adult choices or having adult responsibility women ARE and should be treated that way. I have a culture jamming thing I like to do where I hold on to the woman's arm. You should see the outraged looks we get. It should be outrageous when men lead women around as well. That it is not shows that we have a long way to go.
10 ReplyI can't speak for every guy, but I'm pretty sure the majority would agree that men love it when girls hold onto their arms, as long as the girl isn't being ridiculously clingy. Men see it as a sign that you've dedicated yourself to them and that you are willing to show the world that, and at the same point, it gives you an underlying comfort. Remember that all men are different, so the best thing to do is to ask the guy.

+1 yYes I adore it ! It is a non verbal way of saying I am thought of and connected to that person and that that person feels comfortable showing others and me she cares for me and enjoys having others know it too. Sometimes its romantic but its always about "connection", which is a great thing for both involved ! :)

+1 yI truly enjoy the UNIQUE actions. If she has done that with a previous relationship, I want her to make something unique for "us", even if we're not dating.
Though, the one thing that always steals my heart, is when a girl is smiling or laughing WITH me, or because of me. It makes my day to see my true hearts desire happy.

Huh, you do really think the ACT has to be unique.. I guess my feelings for each different peson, overwhelm the routine... my cousin is the same way.. She gets offended if she finds out someone has done something with others first.. Does no bother me, cause I feel unique being a unique human being with a unique human being... I think of all the things I would have to give up iff I had to worry about doing the same thing... Like walking thru the forest near the brook, or sitting on my roof
- +1 y
@Toulouse, I didn't understand your comment... Could you rephrase it for me? You like being unique, or...?
- +1 y
Certainly. Sorry - no sleep :-)
I was just saying that every experience is unique because the person is unique.. & When I do the SME things with different people I never feel like it is the same.. There are MANY activities I repeat I have to otherwise I would not be me with them, but they never loose there origional quality cause each relationship changes everything in its path.
A comment you made reminded me of my cousin freaking out cause a guy cooked her the SAME GENERIC MEAL. lol - +1 y
But I think what yo said & what she was saying are not the same.. I was just wondering, if doing the same thing with a girl, felt like it was not unique enough... Perhaps you meant something else.
Anyways.
" It makes my day to see my true hearts desire happy. " - Sounds like shakespeare. ^^
& It's beautiful. ;-)
I love it when a girl holds onto my arm, lets me open the door for her, lets me walk on the street side of the sidewalk while walking, let's me comment on how nice she looks, is willing to help out a little bit on the cost of the evening but not being pushy or offensive about it. I've got a bunch of others too. But YES, I find it romantic.
30 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Flirting topic. Romantic? To some. But for most guys its a boost to our ego. It's like saying, "I'm yours", and publicly announcing it.

I couldn't agree with you more!
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yAbsolutely! It is more of an affirmation of comfort and want of the person to be nearer to you than anything else. It taps into the primeval side of the man whereas he almost take ownership that this is his bitch and not anyone elses. Be his bitch hell like it.

+1 yIts annoying, Why would she be hanging off my arm when she could be holding my hand? Its just unnatural, like holding a cup around the rim. I guess I could tolerate it if I liked the girl enough but...

question: why do guys like to hug girls alot.. do they smell her hair too?12 Reply- +1 y
Haha... one time my friend was hugging my sister... and then he smelled her hair. like, while they were still hugging, he picked up a lock and inhaled... most of us looked at him like "wtf?!?!" and laughed, but he didn't care haha he's just like that. totally not afraid to be himself fully, even if it means looking like a retard!
+1 yIf he likes you there is no way that he wouldn't love it.
