Do girls introduce themselves to a guy she likes?

I know this question is probably a definite yes, but every girl that I have found out has had a crush on me, never talked to me. Like I find out that this person likes me, but I have literally never talked to her and by the time I find out, she moved on.

I have always been really shy... ever since middle school, I haven't been able to ever approach any boys I like. Though, there was this one time when I was 13 and I first became friends with a guy, but near the beginning, realized that I liked him.

I stayed friends with him after that still, for two more years until it came out that I liked him and I got too scared to be around him. So, I just don't really talk to guys I like in general because I'm too nervous or scared of saying or doing something stupid.

I'm sure there are lots of shy girls around, so if you suspect they like you, gauge their interest in you by approaching them yourself if you feel like it. Talk to them a little bit, casually. I think it'll help ease their tension when around you.
