What does it mean when a guy barks at you?

So... I was at the beach recently when I noticed a "pack" of guys walking toward me on the sidewalk. I knew one of us would have to move out of the way since it was a bit narrow. Anyway, I kept going and as they grew closer, one of the guys dodged out of the way and barked at me at the same time :/ I know some guys tend to act retarded when they're in groups, but that was a first... Can someone explain this?

So, I guess it can be taken many different ways... It definitely wasn't a "wolf whistle", more like "ROLF!"... Oh well, thank you guys lol

hey...they were just trying to tease u...obviously because you are good looking may be. I guess they just did it for fun(only for them, not for u). It was considerably bad thing. Well..but not all guys act like that. There are decent guys also. So just stay away from those stupids and don't bother.

two things come to mind... they like you and don't know how to show it calmly, only nervously, by barking... two, they don't like you and so are expressing it like stupid dogs.

And dogs are stupid by the way. So anytime a guy barks at a woman, it's a way of showing distain.

um...why is everyone thinking it was a good thing? "Barking" as in woof? woof? or "barking" as in wolf call? There's a difference. A wolf call is praise, not barking.
